TNM Zampira winner donates MK1 million equipment to School

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Stephano Fungula, a Thyolo-based Nyasa Big Bullets supporter who emerged third monthly winner in the ongoing Zampira promotion has handed over football equipment worth K1 million to Makapwa Primary School in Thyolo.

Mandala won K2 million prize money of which K1 million was for his personal usage and K1 million has been channeled towards the procurement of football equipment for the school, in line with the promotion’s conditions.

According to Fungula who works at Makapwa Health Centre as Health Surveillance Assistant, he opted for Makapwa Primary School as one way of giving back to the community that contributed positively to his success in life.

“I attended Makapwa school, and it has contributed significantly to my life. The institution laid a good foundation for my life, and this is my act of appreciation,” said Fungula.

He expressed gratitude to TNM for introducing the promotion saying the prizes have great impact to winners and football development.

“I thank TNM for Zampira promotion which is positively impacting grassroot football. I am in the process of building my house, this money will help me to finish the project,” he said.

He encouraged fellow supporters to continue participating in the promotion to stand a chance of winning and make a difference with only K50.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the school, Montfort Malekano deputy head teacher at Makapwa said the donation will contribute positively to the school’s football team.

“As a school we are thankful to TNM and Stephano Fungula for considering our school. This will go a long way towards enhancing football at our institution. We have needed such equipment and it has come right on time,” said Malekano.

For her part, Tikhala Chilimba TNM’s Product Specialist said through the promotion TNM is creating possibilities in the game of football.

“We are excited to fulfill our commitment of actively engaging and exciting soccer fans where fans are winning fabulous life changing prizes. Through the promotion we are enabling soccer fans to remember to be involved in developing football from grassroots level,” said Chilimba.

To participate in the promotion, subscribers are required to send an SMS of their prediction to code 1515. The SMS costs K50.

Apart from the monthly prizes, there are other weekly prizes in form of airtime and cash.

Silver supporter Ishmael Kayera becomes 4th millionaire in Zampira promotion

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Lilongwe-based teacher who is also a Silver Strikers supporter has emerged as a fourth millionaire in the ongoing Zampira promotion being championed by TNM Plc, the sponsor of the elite league in the country.

Ishmael Kayera has won the monthly prize of K2 million after he correctly predicted a Game between Might Mukuru Wanderers and Mafco FC.

Kayera who teaches at Sendwe CDSS in Lilongwe said that the money will be used in the construction of his house.

“I am glad to emerge a winner in the promotion, I never saw it coming. This money has come on the right time because it will help in my building project,” said Kayera.

As required, part of the money is channeled towards developing grassroots football therefore, Kayera said he will donate the football equipment to Sendwe CDSS.

According to TNM, over 1.4 million supporters participated in the promotion during the month of August and the league sponsor has since expressed satisfaction with the progress of the 2023 episode.

Nsapato said the integrated mobile and ICT services provider is impressed with the level of activities in the promotion after a four-month run.

The promotion also has a daily SMS Trivia Questions component aiming to enhance supporters’ understanding of the game by subscribing and answering daily soccer-related questions.  Four customers each win K50,000 every week.

To participate in the draw, subscribers are required to send an SMS of their prediction to code 451 or dial *451# to predict and access extra features. The SMS cost K50.

Be Forward Wanderers fan carts home MK1.5m in Zampira promo

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-With the 2017 TNM Super League season now completed in style, the decade-long sponsor TNM has given out a grand prize of K1.5 million to a Chirimba based 2017 champions Be Forward Wanderers supporter Zainabu Kachingwe in an interactive SMS promotion for fans dubbed Zampira.

Apart from the grand prize two lucky fans including another Nyerere supporter from Ntcheu Mariko Alufaneti pocketed a cool K250, 000 each after emerging lucky winners from the pool of entries that correctly predicted that Be Forward Wanderers would win the 2017 TNM Super League.

Speaking during the final draw of the promotion in Blantyre, TNM’s Head of Marketing, Sobhuza Ngwenya said Zampira promotion which aimed to actively engage soccer fans through making of predictions of weekly results and the season’s champion through SMS has achieved its objective.

“Zampira has been a fresh concept and proved to be one of the most exciting fan engagement elements this season. The promotion recognises the role of soccer fans in the success story of the game in Malawi and today as sponsors we are pleased with the response that the promotion succeeded in this objective,” said Ngwenya.

The TNM Head of Marketing said since the launch of Zampira promotion in June 2017, TNM has given out over K12 million to soccer fans during weekly and monthly draws with the ultimate winner carting home K1.5 million.

“TNM considers soccer fans as an important stakeholder in its efforts to develop football standards in Malawi. The introduction of Zampira was a continuation of our engagement with the football fan base and this has been accomplished as demonstrated by the high number of entries received week in and out for the past seven months,” he said.

He observed that soccer lovers had lived up to the challenge of reading in advance the league’s matches and predicting results.

He assured soccer lovers of TNM’s continued support to the development of football and bringing innovative products and services that reward supporters such as Zampira promotion.

Overall, Zampira promotion has registered a total of 355,837 entries in which 14,375 were correct predictions representing a 4.03% accuracy rate.

The match between Be Forward Wanderers and Nyasa big Bullets registered the highest predictions at 41,408 with 2,028 correct ones while the game between Be Forward Wanderers and Silver Strikers registered the lowest correct prediction rate of 0.3%. This followed total entries of 9,463 against 32 correct predictions.

The 2017 champions prediction category which closed in August received a total of 2,933 entries and 1,970 were correct representing a 67.16%.

Apart from the grand prize, TNM has been giving out other prizes to lucky customers in the ranges of MK1000 worth of airtime to 50 winners weekly, K50, 000 to three winners weekly and MK100, 000’s every month to two lucky fans ahead of the grand prize.

During the final prediction match between Nyasa Big Bullets and Masters Security, a total of 4,061 predictions were registered out of which 713 were correct.

The Zampira Promotion was launched in June 2017, and ended on December 23, 2017.

Zampira champions’ prediction closes August end

Blantyre, August 24, 2017 Long- term sponsor of the top flight league, TNM Plc has announced that the prediction of 2017 champions in Zampira promotion will end on August 31, 2017.

Apart from predicting weekly results, TNM also challenged football fans to make predictions on the winning team in 2017 season.

Speaking during the weekly draw, TNM’s Senior Manager- Public Relations Akossa Hiwa called on football supporters who haven’t yet sent in champion’s predictions to do so before the closing date on August 31, 2017.

“The football fans simply have to text the name of the team they think will win the League to the number 1515. The prediction for the winning team commenced in May and ends this month, after which two fans will walk away with K250,000.00 each at the end of the season,,” said Hiwa.

During the 11th weekly draw, TNM splashed out K50,000.00 to three fans who made correct predictions for the Lilongwe derby game between Civil Sporting and Silver Strikers which ended 2-1 in favour of the bankers .

‘ The Zampira promotion continues to register an increase in participants as evidenced by the statistics of the 11th draw. This is very encouraging as it shows that TNM is achieving its set objectives for this promotion, which was to engage football fans through their mobile phones,” she said.

Launched on June 7, 2017, Zampira, interactive SMS promotion for fans is aimed at engaging soccer fans directly through sending predictions of weekly results and the season champion.

One lucky fan will walk away with the grand prize of K 1.5 million at the end of the season.
To participate in the promotion, subscribers are required to send an SMS of their prediction to code 1515 for the selected game. The promotion draws are conducted on a weekly and monthly interval.
