BLANTYRE (Maravipost)–Malawi’s urban musician Tay Grin is among hip hop stars invited to perform at this year’s Black Entertainment Film Fashion Television and Arts) (BEFFTA) awards in London next month.
The 6th BEFFTA awards will take place on 24 and 25 October at The Hippodrome in UK.
Hip Hop stars from US, Africa, Canada, UK, the Caribbean and the rest of Europe are expected to patronise the event, according to BEFFTA website.
BEFFTA awards are aimed at honouring and celebrating talented personalities in entertainment, film, fashion, television and arts.
Tay Grin, fondly known as the ‘Nyau King’, is currently promoting his new single titled ‘The Beach’, song that talks about the beauty of Malawi and the Southern African country’s culture. The track is from the star’s forthcoming untitled third album.
“The BEFFTA Award invitation has come just after my UK tour. This shows progress and bears witness to the fact that hard work pays off.
“I am very excited, I can’t wait to perform on yet another big stage and raise the Malawi flag high internationally,” says Tay Grin.
He adds: “This event will be full of all the big industry executives from film, music, fashion and art, it’s definitely a great platform to showcase my talent and further progress my career.
In August and September, the Channel O award-wining rapper had a tour of UK where he performed at the Commonwealth Festival in Scotland, Manchester and Nottingham.
