ANKARA-(MaraviPost)-Rescuers are desperately searching for survivors in southern Turkey and northern Syria after two huge earthquakes on Monday.

According to BBC, more than 9,500 people are now known to have been killed, and there are warnings the death toll could continue to surge.

The number of people killed in Turkey has risen to 6,957, according to the country’s disaster agency.

It is difficult to verify the number in Syria, but its state media and a rescue group say about 2,500 people have died

Search efforts have continued for a second freezing-cold night – time is running out for rescuers to find survivors under the rubble.

Devastating Turkey-Syria Earth Quake

Dramatic footage has emerged of a family of six being pulled alive from the rubble in the Syrian city of Idlib.

Some international aid is reaching Syria but access is limited because of damaged roads.

The first 7.8 magnitude quake struck near Gaziantep in the early hours of Monday, followed by a 7.5 magnitude tremor hours later.
