Vice President, Saulos Chilima is scheduled to leave the country for South Africa tomorrow.
The Veep will depart Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe on Monday September 15, 2014 at 8.00 am and plans to return home Tuesday the following day, September 16, 2014.
According to press statement made available to Maravipost, Sunday from the his office reads, ‘’His Excellency Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has delegated Vice President Saulos Chilima to represent him at a Southern African Development Community (SADC) Double Troika Plus Two Summit taking place on September 15, 2014 in Pretoria, South Africa.’’
The Summit will discuss the latest political development in the region, particularly the Political and Security situation in the kingdom of Lesotho.
The statement further says, ‘’the meeting will also review the progress with regards to the voluntary disarmament and surrender of the Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda (FDLR).’’
