President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika will on Saturday, 13th December, 2014 preside over the commemoration of Anti-Corruption Day at the Grand Palace Hotel in Mzuzu City.
This was released in a Press Statement issued on Thursday from the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC) signed by Presidential Press Secretary Fredrick Ndala.
This year’s commemoration will mark the aligning of the National Anti-Corruption Day with the observance of the International Anti-Corruption Day which falls on 9th December every year.
The theme for the International Anti-Corruption Day is Break the Corruption Chain. However, Malawi will commemorate the Anti-Corruption Day under the theme Fight Corruption; Develop Malawi.
According to the statement, the activities to mark the Anti-Corruption Day are scheduled to start at 9 am.
The International Anti-Corruption Day comes at a time when reports indicates that corruption in the country is on the rise.
