HARARE-(MaraviPost)-A 32-year-old woman is currently serving 50 years jail term at Chikurubi Female Prison for allegedly raping numerous other women across the country.
The convict, Ruth, disclosed this during Peace Education programme conducted by the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services, at Harare Central Prison Mess.
According to H-Metro, the mother of three revealed that she was involved with notorious criminals after her marriage collapse which left her vulnerable.
She said the criminals took her to various places where they hooked her into various acts, including robberies and raping of women.
However, she said although she was not directly raping fellow women herself, her involvement with the robbers, and her presence at the scenes where women were raped was enough evidence before the courts of law for her conviction.
She has since served three years of her jail term and she believes through the peace education programme, she is being changed from within and she now has hope and peace of mind.
Her notorious partner-in-crime was also arrested and is currently serving his sentence in one of the Correctional facilities in the country.
