LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Over the long weekend thieves are said to have broken into Malawi Vice President Saulos Chilima’s office at Capital Hill in Lilongwe.

The incident is said to have happened between Friday and Monday night.

Chilima’s publicist Pilirani Phiri confirmed the incident saying there was an attempt to break in.

Lingadzi Police spokesperson Salome Zgambo also confirmed the break-in saying it happened through the bathroom window of the office of the Principal Secretary where tonner and some biscuits have been stolen.

Zgambo disclosed that the law-enforcers are investigating the matter to arrest the culprits.

In 2021 there was an attempted break-in at the same office.

According to Zgambo the 2021 incident was resolved as some people who were terrorising Capital Hill were dealt with.

“As I am speaking they are serving their sentence in prison, “Zgambo told the Nation online.

This is not an isolated incident as Capital Hill has been a target of break-ins despite police guarding the entry points.
