BLANTYRE-(Maravi Post)-The Malawi Flames wrapped up their final training session ahead of their crucial CHAN qualifier against South Africa.
The team trained at Bishop Mackenzie on Thursday, preparing for their trip to South Africa on Friday May 09,2025.
Head Coach Calisto Pasuwa expressed satisfaction with the team’s training, emphasizing that the job is not done until it’s done.
Pasuwa urged his players to adopt an attacking mindset, believing that the best way to defend is to attack.
He emphasized the importance of taking the initiative and putting pressure on the opponent.
Malawi will need at least a draw to qualify for the CHAN finals, following their single-goal lead scored by Zeliat Nkhoma in the first game at Bingu Stadium in Lilongwe.
Sports analyst Ibrahim Phiri offered words of advice, cautioning that South Africa will likely come out strong in the first minutes to score an early goal.
However, Phiri urged the Flames to play without pressure, maintaining possession and attacking as a cohesive unit.
