Youth Decide Campaign to host national summit to demand action from leaders

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-The Youth Decide Campaign says is set to host a National Youth Summit from June 25 to 26, 2025 at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC ) in Lilongwe aimed at amplifying youth voices ahead of the September elections.

Speaking during a press briefing on Thursday in Lilongwe, the group’s chairperson Mwandida Theu emphasized that the summit, themed ‘2025 National Youth Summit for Democracy and Human Rights,’ will focus on making the youth manifesto a binding agreement for political parties.

She noted that past youth manifestos have been adopted by parties solely for electoral gain, without follow-through on commitments.

“This summit aims to change that narrative, holding governing parties accountable for unfulfilled promises,” said Theu.

The Youth Decide Campaign is a coalition of various youth organizations including Youths And Society and National Youths Council.
