Malawi’ central soccer body to award outstanding teams, individuals Feb 1

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Malawi Central Region Football Association (CRFA) has announced that it will award the outstanding teams and individuals on February 1, 2020 in Salima.

CRFA General Secretary Benard Chiwiruwiru Harawa has confirmed the development saying all is set to give the deserving teams and individuals their rewards of the 2019 season.

“We are almost ready to hold this awarding ceremony in Salima. We Believe this is the best time to give them what they have harvested from last season as they also prepare for 2020 season.

“We hope to have a colourful event which will be spiced by a football match involving CRFA socials from Lilongwe and any team in Salima (either Mafco, Airborne or another socials),” he explained.

According to the letter released on Thursday January 16 by the association, 6 teams from each division, top goal scorers (from all divisions), and player of the season will be honoured on this day.

The letter indicates that in premier division the champions Mafco FC, Airborne Rangers, Silver Reserve, Dedza Dynamos, Holly Cross Ambassadors, and the most disciplined team are the ones who will receive the awards.

While in division one, the following are the teams to receive the awards; the champions Ekas Freight Wanderers, St Gabriel, Extreme, Simbi, Majiga, and the most disciplined team.

In division two; the champions Kasiya Hungry Tigers, Santhe Admarc, Ngwangwa FC, Chiocha FC, Mkuze FC plus the most disciplined club are the ones to be honoured.

Harawa also said that the association will acknowledge the outstanding work by reporters with the best three from electronic and two from print media.

Last year, the awarding ceremony took place at Mbolembole Motel at Mponela in Dowa.
