Mzuzu’s MHC three top officers transferred as deputy land minister Abida tours new facility

MZUZU-(MaraviPost)-Wrangles between the Malawi Housing Corporation (MHC) staff and management in Mzuzu has come to an end as their demands to have their three top officers immediately transferred been granted

The deputy minister of lands and Housing Abida Mia who had familiazation tour to the north confirmed about the wrangles upon visiting Mzuzu MHC offices on Thursday, July 16, 2020.

“The regional manager has already been transferred while the estates manager is on leave pending transfer. We looked at the well-fare issues. Some of them were petty and just needed attention,we have asked management to discuss with them,” said Mia.

On the issue to do with unpaid salaries Mia said that it was just a shortfall of which they have arleady sent the amount to the main office to be checked if the money was supposed to be paid or if it was not in order.

The MHC workers union secretary Rachel Limbe disclosed that the staff started complaining about the wellfare issues since the coming of the regional manager, Stella Sokosa to Mzuzu hence the demands of her transfer.

The staffs were demanding for the immediate transfer of the regional manager Stella Sokosa,the senior estate manager Madalitso Longwe and Roosevelt Msiska the estate officer

On her tour to the north Abida Mia also visited the newly built MHC dwelling houses at Kaning’ina and Chasefu in Mzuzu.
