Malawi electoral body Commissioner Jean Mathanga arrested for ESCOM’s misprocurement

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday, July 23, 2020 arrested Commissioner for Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) Jean Mathanga.

ACB Director General Reyneck Matemba confirmed of the arrest in an interview with the press, saying details of her arrest will released later.

Mathanga, a former board Chair of Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) is accused of having a hand in misprocurement at the electricity distribution company.
