Malawi President Chakwera hires exorbitant Seychelles Airplane to SADC meeting amid economic turmoil

Mozambican Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oldemiro Boloi welcomed Chakwera on arrival in Maputo

MAPUTO-(MaraviPost)-Malawi President Lazarus Chakwera on Thursday, Morning, May 27, 2021 hired Seychelles Airplane to attend Southern African Development Community (SADC) Extraordinary Double Troika Summit in Mozambique amid economic turmoil, the country is experiencing.

President Chakwera has used the Seychelles Airplane with millions of kwacha in meeting costs against the traditional usage of Malawi Airlines.

Surprisingly, upon arrival, Maputo Mozambique, Chakwera was welcomed by that country’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oldemiro Boloi which is unusual for the head of state.

The Malawi leader has adapted global trotting tendencies that cost taxpayers money while the nation is grappling for social-economic ills of Tonse government administration.

Malawians are straggling with heavy taxes on basic items including cooking oil, water, electricity, fuel.

Chakwera is expected to be back this afternoon from SADC meeting.
