BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP)’s Vice President for the North, Jappie Mhango,on allegations of corruption and abuse of office.

Mhango, who previously served as Minister of Transport and Public Works, is accused of misusing his public office for personal gain.

According to the ACB, Mhango allegedly authorized the sale of ministry houses at under-valued prices, resulting in a loss of government revenue.

The bureau also alleges that Mhango provided false information to investigators, claiming he did not know the owner of a house rented by his second wife, when in fact the house was bought from the ministry during his tenure and is owned by his relative, Cuthbert Mhango.
