BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Rodrick Folindo on Sunday emerged victorious in the Big Brother Limited National Golf Championship, held at the Blantyre Sports Club(BSC).
Speaking to journalists during the prize presentation, Folindo credited the tournament with helping him maintain his form and stay at the top of his game.
On his part,Big Brother Limited Managing Director Shiraz Mojoo said the company’s sponsorship of the competition was part of its corporate social responsibility initiative to support the development of golf in Malawi.
Marketing Manager for Mzuzu International Academy, David Chiomba,whose institution also supported the event said they saw it as an opportunity to foster partnerships and create new opportunities in the sport.
Golf Union of Malawi(GUM ) Vice President Michael Khomani noted that such competitions are crucial in identifying new talent and skilled players to represent the country in national teams.
The championship showcased the growing interest in golf in the country and the importance of corporate support in promoting the sport.
