AFORD central  region committee defects to Freedom Party; Road to May 21 Polls

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Alliance For Democracy (AFORD) central region committee on Sunday defected to Malawi’s former Vice President Khumbo Kachali’s Freedom Party (FP).

This comes barely three months before the nation goes for tripartite elections May 21.

AFORD’s President Enoch Chihana has also collected nomination papers posed to stand against 20 presidential  candidates for the polls.

FP Secretary General Steve Njobvuyalema expressed gratitude for the coming in of AFORD members into the party advising the new leaders to practice politics of national building.

Njobvuyalema said the party’s President Khumbo Kachali advocates and encourages people to be united in fostering development at local and national levels.

He said this leaders should emulate the party President ideology if the country is to development.

Njobvuyalema, therefore, advised the defectants to  tireless build and strengthen the party at grassroots in readiness for this year’s tripartite elections in May.

“The joining of the entire AFORD central region committee to Freedom Party is an indication that the party is winning the trust of people in all regions,” lauded Njobvuyalema,

The AFORD Central  Region committee was welcomed  today in Lilongwe.
