LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The country’s leading smartphone network provider Airtel Malawi on Friday flown two 2019 MISA Awards winners in best business reporting to Johannesburg in South Africa for shopping trip.
The two awardees including Tadala Kaledzera and Joseph Mwale of Zodiak Broadcasting (ZBS) and Nation Publication Limited (NPL) respectively.
The vacation trip is for two nights which is part of Airtel’s 11 years partnership with MISA to award best reporters in business.
Airtel Malawi Communications, Corporate and PR Manager Norrah Chavula-Chirwa told the news conference on Thursday during dummy trip presentation that the trip is meant for the duo to experience life outside the newsroom.
Chavula Chirwa assured the media fraternity in the country that the company will continue supporting the media in effective business reporting.
“We are excited that there is more zeal in business reporting as we just noticed that more journalists are entering MISA awards since we introduced the shopping trip to winners,” excited Chavula-Chirwa.
Theresa Ndanga, MISA Chairperson lauded Airtel for its total commitment supporting Malawi media to grow in effective reporting.
Ndanga therefore encourage entire media fraternity to always come up with moving stories that bring change for the country.
Kaledzera being the first female to win the award said was very excited to excel in the field of male dominance.
In 2018, Airtel also frown George Lumwira (MIJ) and Ntchindi Meki of NPL to South Africa on the same awards.
