MZUZU-(MaraviPost)-The Maravi Post 2021 Personality of The Year and man of the moment Bon Kalindo has announced that he will continue with nationwide demonstrations in the new year to remind President Lazarus Chakwera that Malawians are suffering and so something ought to be done.

Announcing the plan of demos on Tuesday, Kalindo, a politician and a comedian himself, said the anti-government demonstrations will start with Blantyre on January 13, 2022.

“We are back to business and well not relent until what was promised to Malawians is seen and happening,” said Kalindo.

Kalindo added that after the Blantyre demos, he will lead a “shutdown” of Chingeni Tollgate because, according to him, government lied to Malawians on cutting down tollgate fees, a development he described as unfortunate as it did not happen.

He further said the shutdown will involve holding vigils at the tollgate and stopping owners of vehicles from paying the fees until government listens to the demands of Malawians.

The former director of youth in one of the Tonse Alliance partners, UTM party warned that he is going to call for referendum should government not do any to improve conditions of living for Malawians.

Last year alone, Kalindo was arrested twice for allegedly fabricating false information while holding demos in Mzuzu and Mangochi and for money laundering counts for which he was given court and police bail respectively.

He is scheduled to appear before Zomba Magistrate court on January 20, 2022 and Lilongwe Magistrate Court on 3 February, 2022 to answer the charges.
