Chakwera welcomes new Irish Ambassador Kate Brady to Malawi

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-President Lazarus Chakwera on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 received Letters of Credence from Kate Brady, the new Ambassador of Ireland to Malawi, at Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe.

The presentation ceremony marked the formal beginning of Ambassador Brady’s diplomatic tenure in Malawi, strengthening bilateral ties and cooperation between the two nations.

Ambassador Brady expressed her commitment to deepening Ireland’s partnership with Malawi, particularly in areas of economic development, education, and healthcare.

President Chakwera welcomed Ambassador Brady, emphasizing the importance of Malawi’s relationship with Ireland and looking forward to enhanced collaboration.

The Irish Embassy in Malawi has been instrumental in supporting various development initiatives, including poverty reduction programs and humanitarian aid.

Ambassador Brady will be responsible for promoting Irish interests, fostering trade and investment, and enhancing cultural exchange between the two countries.
