LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Computers for Enhanced Education (CEE) is launching its Coding Clubs project this Thursday at Edge Waters View Hotel in Lilongwe, targeting 80 schools nationwide to empower Malawian students with critical digital skills.
The rollout begins with 30 schools in the Central Region, 25 in the Northern Region, and 25 in the Southern Region.
Building on the success of The Turing Trust, CEE provides schools with ICT equipment and trains teachers in digital literacy, ensuring students gain maximum learning opportunities.
Coding Clubs aim to go beyond teaching computer use—they empower young people to become innovators, problem-solvers, and leaders in Malawi’s digital economy.
“Malawi’s future depends on its youth,” said Sylvestre Mtumbuka, Chief Executive Officer. “Coding is no longer optional, its as essential as reading, writing, and arithmetic.
“Coding Clubs will equip students to think critically, create solutions, and participate actively in the global digital economy.”
Through partnerships with Raspberry Pi, The Turing Trust, educators, and communities, Coding Clubs will spark curiosity, nurture creativity, and foster a generation ready to address Malawi’s challenges with homegrown, technology-driven solutions.
The official launch will bring together schools, teachers, and community leaders to celebrate this major step toward transforming Malawi’s educational landscape and preparing the youth for a rapidly digitalizing world.
