….As Immigration Department fails to restore e-passport system

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-In a shocking turn of events, the Department of Immigration and Citizenship has come under fire for deceiving the public with false promises of passport issuance services.
The recent press release issued on March 12, titled Update on passport issuance services, claimed that the restoration of e-passports had been completed and that the issuance of passports would begin in Lilongwe before expanding to other regions.
In addition, it was announced that passport fees would be reduced from K90,000 to MK50,000.
However, as eager Malawians flocked to Lilongwe in anticipation of finally obtaining their passports, they were met with disappointment as there was no sign of the promised services.
It soon became clear that the press release was nothing more than a fabrication, a blatant lie orchestrated by the Director General of Immigration, C.D.E Kalumo.
Upon further investigation, it was revealed that Kalumo had rushed to release the press release in order to appease his boss, President Chakwera, who had directed that passport issuance be prioritized.
It appears that Kalumo’s deceitful actions were an attempt to curry favor with the President, without any regard for the truth or the well-being of the Malawian people.
The implications of this deception are grave, as Malawians have been misled and their hopes dashed.
The hard-earned taxes of the citizens have been squandered on a fraudulent press release, all in the name of political expediency.
The anger and frustration of the people are palpable, as they demand accountability and transparency from those in positions of power.
Calls for Kalumo’s immediate resignation have been mounting, as Malawians refuse to be taken for granted any longer.
The betrayal of trust by the Immigration Czar has galvanized a sense of righteous indignation among the populace, who are no longer willing to tolerate such deceitful practices.
It is high time for the truth to be exposed and for those responsible to face the consequences of their actions.
The lies of the Immigration Czar have been laid bare, and the people demand justice for this egregious betrayal of trust.
President Chakwera must address this issue with the seriousness it deserves and take decisive action to rectify the situation.
In the end, it is the integrity and credibility of the government that is at stake.
The people of Malawi deserve better – they deserve honesty, accountability, and above all, a government that serves their interests with integrity and transparency.
The lies of the Immigration Czar have been exposed, and now it is time for justice to be served.
