LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Fire on Sunday afternoon gutted part of a house of a State House IT officer.
Presidential Spokesperson Mgeme Kalirani has confirmed.
Mgeme says the officer, Chancy Chingwalungwalu, and his wife were out at the time the fire started, but it is suspected that their two children caused the fire using matches they were playing with.
Kalirani says the fire was put out before it spread to the rest of the house, which is situated right inside the Kamuzu Palace compound.
The development coincides with Malawi Attorney General Kalekeni Kaphale’s house also gutted down on Sunday morning.
