Ghanaian groom dies in car crash enroute to wedding venue

ACCRA-(MaraviPost)-A wedding in Ghana came to halt after the groom-to-be died in a tragic fatal accident on his way to the wedding venue leaving the bride in shock.

The Ejisu Motor Transport and Traffic Directorate (MTTD) confirmed the news of the tragedy.

According to global times, the unfortunate incident occurred at Fumesua on the Kumasi-Accra highway around 1:00pm.

Police said the Ford Escape vehicle was being driven by the groom, identified as Mohammed Zakari, when the accident happened with four other occupants.

The driver lost control and ran into a ditch leaving the 40-year-old groom dead on the spot.

Other reports suggested that the four other occupants were rushed to KNUST Hospital for medical care and one of the victims who sustained life-threatening injuries has been transferred to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).

Upon hearing the news of the tragedy, the bride reportedly suffered a traumatic shock and she has been in coma since. The deceased groom has been buried according to Islamic rites.

Meanwhile, MTTD has commenced investigation into the tragic accident.
