LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Innobuild construction company on Friday launched a scholarship scheme that will provide school needs for 16 Form 1 Students with albinism in government boarding Schools across the country.
The scheme launch took place at Ministry of gender conference room at capital hill in Lilongwe.
Innobuild Chief Executive Director, Billy Jonathan Chiwotha said they thought of Sponsoring the scholarship to the students to encourage them to work hard in their studies so that they should know that they are also important to the nation.
Chiwotha also said the Scholarship will run for 4 years and will cover the school fees, Pocket Money, and School Uniform among others.
He then asked government to support Malawian Companies through good economic policies so that they can help in developing Malawi through donations like those.
In His remarks, President of the Association of people with Albinism in Malawi(APAM), Ian Simbota, asked the students to work hard in class and make their sponsor and APAM proud by performing and bringing out good results.
He then appreciated Innobuild for the work they have done saying they have made people with Albinism know that they also matter and that they can also be great graduates.
commenting, Director of Department of Disability in the Ministry of Gender children Disability and social Welfare, Felix Sapala Commended Innobuild for the scholarship saying they have helped Government in protecting People with albinism and to have better education.
He then asked other companies and organizations to take Innobuild as an example and help Government in promoting education and making it accessible among all in the country..
According to Innobuild Construction Company, the Scholarship will cost MK16 million.
