BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)- Veteran and renowned broadcaster Lloyd Zawanda on Tuesday passed, having been pronounced dead upon arrival at Blantyre Adventist Hospital.

The late Zawanda, who until his death, was Station Manager for the privately-owned Joy Radio, was found unconscious at his home.

On this fatal day the late Zawanda was scheduled to fly to South Africa for a media conference.

The well-known veteran journalist joined Joy Radio, which is owned by former President Bakili Muluzi, as an editor after working many years as a journalist.

Thom Khanje, MISA Malawi’s former chairperson, learnt the death of Zawanda with shock describing his as a jolly fellow. Many journalist in Malawi, are equally shocked and saddened to lose another journalist from the media community.

“I’m so heartbroken. He was many years my senior, but we respected and supported each other. I can’t believe he is gone,” said Khanje.

The burial of the late Zawanda will be announced later. May his soul Rest in Peace.
