ZOMBA-(MaraviPost)-Malawi court at Zomba magistrate court on Wednesday night granted FDH Bank boss, Dr. Thomson Mpinganjira bail
The court issued an order some hours ago and Mpinganjira is now stepping out of an office at Blantyre Police Station free to rest at his Blantyre home.
Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General, Reyneck Matemba confirmed receiving an order from Zomba magistrate quashing the warrant of arrest obtained by ACB on whose basis Dr. Thomson Mpinganjira was arrested Wednesday morning.
“I am speechless and lost for words, ” Matemba told Zodiak describing what has happened as evidence of a “rotten judicial system”.
Matemba wondered “why travel all the way to Zomba, why at night, and an ex-parte application?”
Below is the court order to stopping ACB arresting Mpinganjira;
this is pure witch hunt well calculated from jelousy and tribalism. is it a crime to be a lhomwe? raph tortured mulli injb’s era and no doubt this could be his design. why acb jitters when it comes to probing the opposition? uladi was probed after joining the ruling elite and chilima was bribing the judicial staff, why silent?
this is a product of envy which rules spreme in malawi. this guy is a victim of jelous and tribalism. its unfortunate to see business giants from the lhomwe being targeted for mere political propaganda. other people are very evil, they don’t care about a million plus people employed directly or indirectly by these locals. mulli’s punishmment affected so many people. i’m really doubting the truthfulness of this fake corrupt scandal acb will yet to lose again. this story could well be created by the opposition to influence the judgement under our nose. it could also be created to get lid of the feared judges from the panel so that the judgement could go in their way. another thing could be the fear of the unknown which has made the opposition to go crazy so that once the judgement won’t go their way they will have a scapegoat. its very unfortunate to use acb to attack in some1’s place to bully others inorder to gain political milage.
