BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-The High court in Blantyre on Thursday, October 22, 2020 revoked a bail on Thompson Mpinganjira on judge bribery case.
This follows after Mpinganjira’s lawyer asked a plea bargaining arrangements with the state and asked the court to adjourn the matter up to next week.
Eventually, the high court judge Dorothy Degabrielle accepted the request for plea bargain but the court revoked the bail saying Mpinganjira should be taken back to Chichiri prison.
Since today was a trial day, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ABC) CB director General Reyneck Matemnba said the plea bargain could be going as the trial takes place.
Mpinganjira who is a business mogul was arrested in January 2020 for bribing the judges of the constitutional court.
