Malawi Flames will play Uganda Cranes Monday 6 as part of Independence Day Celebrations

The Malawi Flames will play a friendly against Uganda Cranes at Kamuzu Stadium in the commercial city of Blantyre on Monday July 6 as part of Malawi’s 51st independence celebrations.

Malawi caretaker Coach Ernest Mtawali who is doing all he can to get the position permanently said that all is set for the teams to play in a friendly game to celebrate the country’s independence.

“We are taking advantage of this friendly game to test the team’s strength and see the way forward,” he said.

Mtawali has taken over the task to coach the team due to Football Association of Malawi (FAM)’s decision to fire Young Chimodzi and assistant Jack Chamangwana following the Flames failure at the Cosafa Cup tournament.

The Uganda Cranes are ranked 71 by FIFA while Malawi ranks at 95.
