MaraviPost iReport: Malawi High Commissioner to South Africa Chrissie Kapinda has called upon government not to take sides when prosecuting Cashgate suspects as one way of curbing corruption in the country.
The newly appointed ambassador made the remarks during the interdenominational prayer service for Malawi Independence day celebrations in Johannesburg, South Africa.
She said that for the ruling party to show that its corrupt free government should bring to book all wrongdoers without taking sides. ” Actually I’m very happy that corruption has been exposed Cause that was the hard part to expose corruption and define what corruption is, now with the exposer of corruption everyone that has been found with corrupt activity must be put to book.” Kapinda said.
She further advised government that. “If people are let free then we will be talking about corruption year after year but the fact it has been exposed defined, I take it that now we can find measures of eliminating it. It might not go away entirely but people will be sensitive to the consequences of being found of this malpractice.”
