Malawi Police fuel scam; three officers arrested

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Malawi police headquarters  at Area 30 in the capital Lilongwe on Friday arrested three police officers and five civilians in connection to a multi-million kwacha fuel scam

The five arrested civilians are fuel attendants who are suspected to have been conniving with police officers to defraud police.

National Police Spokesperson James Kadadzera confirmed the arrest and identified the three arrested police officers including DCP Mwale, S/supt Kachapira and Supt Mkwapatira.

They are yet to appear in court once formally charged.
