LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-President Lazarus Chakwera, and First Lady, Madam Monica Chakwera on Tuesday joined millions of Malawians in exercising their right to vote at Malembo Primary School in the area of Traditional Authority Malembo in Lilongwe.

Malawians today take to the polls to vote for a President, Members of Parliament, and Councillors of their choice.

The event underscores the democratic process in Malawi, where leaders actively participate in election processes alongside citizens.

This participation is crucial for fostering a vibrant democracy and encourages citizens to exercise their rights and responsibilities in selecting their leaders.

This participation by high-ranking officials, including President Chakwera, emphasises the importance of civic engagement in the electoral process.

By voting alongside citizens, these leaders not only demonstrate their accountability but also inspire the populace to fulfill their electoral duties.

Malembo Primary School Polling Centre has 4,683 voters and according to Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) Presiding officer for the centre Charles Banda, all the processes are in order and that there are no stumbling blocks currently.
