medical officer arrested for bribery

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday arrested a clinical officer, Olipa Mtsuko, who works at Bwaila Hospital for allegedly soliciting money from an expectant woman who went there for a medical attention after experiencing labour pains.

According to a press statement released by ACB, the institution received a complaint alleging that the said officer demanded and received MK30, 000 in order to attend to the expectant woman.

It is at this point that the Anti graft body in a joint operation with the Malawi Police Service went to arrest the officer.

Mtsuko will soon be taken to court to answer charges which ACB will level against her.

Lately, ACB has been condemned by some pockets of the general public for just being a barking dog which does not bite; particularly when it comes to the big political fish being involved in fraudulent activities.
