MZUZU-(MaraviPost)-Ministry of Health has embarked on mandatory Covid-19 testing for all super league footballers for free in the run up to the 2020 Super league kick off next month.

Speaking after a meeting of officials from the Ministry of Health, Football Association of Malawi (FAM) and Presidential Taskforce on Covid-19, Spokesperson in the Ministry of Health, Joshua Malango, confirmed that it is for all Super league players to be tested for Covid-19 for free only that each football club will be asked to pay something to the medical personnel conducting the exercise.

“We received a request that maybe we can help with the cost of the superleague teams only. We will do the testing for free but there is a fee which the teams will be meeting. This is a transportation cost as well as an allowance for our laboratory guys who will be going to take the samples of all team officials and players,” Malango explained.
