Malawi’s Mzuni student Mike Nakhuto killed in a hit and run

MZUZU-(MaraviPost)-Mzuzu University student has this morning been hit to death by a Central Medical Stores driver who ran away.

The student, Mike Nakhuto, who was in second year, was studying a bachelor of science in Optometry.

While confirming the death, one police officer working at Mzuzu Police Station, said while on duty this, they received a tip from a mechanic operating in Mzuzu, saying a driver brought a dented vehicle belong to Lilongwe Central Medical Stores with blood stains at his garage, wishing to have it maintained.

It is at this point that the mechanic tipped the police who immediately rushed to the garage and arrested the driver.

Nakhuto who was an upgrading student, was a police officer working at Police College Hospital in Zomba.

In a related incident, another Mzuni student who was just known as Wakanda, died in a road accident during the just ended festive holiday.
