KARONGA-(MaraviPost)-The National Malawi Congress Party high command has teamed up to campaign for the party’s candidate, Leonard Mwalwanda in Karonga Central’s by-election.
In the leaked program of events up north this weekend, Political analysts have described it as a sign of “cowardice” and that MCP is fully aware that Lenard Mwalwanda can not defeat Frank Mwenefumbo.
In the 2019 Parliamentary Elections there was a difference of 91 votes between Frank Mwenefumbo and the late Dr Cornelius Mwalwanda.
Voters in the constituency have complained about the endorsement of Lenard Mwalwanda as MCP candidate who was supposed to face Mr Eliam Simwaka at the Party’s Primary Election where Mr Simwaka withdrew because of foul play by the District’s Party committee.
In a related development, Kaitano Simwaka, late Dr Mwalwanda’s right hand man and pres officer has endorsed the candidature of UTM’s Frank Mwenefumbo.
