LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Secretary General Eisenhower Mkaka has been blamed for undermining the well placed structures for his party in parliament.
On Tuesday Mkaka responded to two money bills in the August house when MCP’s financial Spokesperson Collins Kajawa was rightful person for the task.
Mkaka’s behaviour did not go well with MCP mps, there was murmuring and background noise from MCP benches when he was speaking while mimicking Chakwera’s American accent.
One MP could be heard saying “what is he trying to be, he thinks is wiser than all of us here, despite Kajawa is responsible for that”.
Professor Chiyambi Kachikuni a political lecturer at Catholic University has described Mkaka’s conduct as political disorder.
“Mkaka is a senior MCP member and the whole party is expecting a lot from him that he will appreciate duties assigned to be performed by his fellow members”, He explained.
He added that Mkaka is taking advantage of Leadership gap in his party to sell himself for MCP presidency.
His strategy started during the primaries elections where he had a hand in eliminating his strongest contenders the likes of Njobvuyalema, Dzoole Mwale and his own rival late Makala Ngozo among others that they should not come back to Parliament.
