LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Ministry of Education has directed that form four students should report back to their respective schools on December 28 2020 to prepare for the retake of the cancelled 2020 Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE).
Ministry of Education Principal Secretary Chikondano Mussa announced in a statement that no school, both public and private, should demand any payment from the MSCE candidates.
The statement further said that the newly selected form 1 students should report for classes on February 1 2021 to avoid congesting schools.
And the continuing students in form 2,3 and 4 will report for classes on 5th January 2021.
The Ministry wishes to call upon all schools to strictly adhere and be in full compliance with these guidelines.
The Ministry further wishes to remind all schools to continue adhering to COVID-19 preventive measures at all times as stipulated in the school reopening guidelines.
On November 4, 2020, the Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB), in conjunction with the Ministry of Education cancelled the entire MSCE Examinations in a bid to preserve the credibility and integrity of national examinations in Malawi.
This decision was taken following evidence of massive leakage of many papers students were sitting for at the time.
Following the cancellation of the form four examinations, President Lazarus Chakwera, directed that MSCE examinations be re-administered not later than January 2021.
