Speaking during a day-long Media Seminar On Monetary Policy Reporting, Reserve Bank of Malawi’s Director of Public Relations Dr Mark Lungu said journalists need a proper understanding of financial dynamics influencing economic growth and development.
“After training session, you should be able to present financial and economic matters in a way that the layperson out there understands well therefore let me request you colleagues from the media to take this training opportunity very seriously so that you equip yourselves with the necessary skills,” Lungu said.

Mtumodzi emphasized this by saying, “It is undeniable that while journalists subscribe and conform to the tenets of professionalism bordering on the pursuit of truth, accuracy, balance, fairness and independence in business reporting they extra need knowledge through such trainings.” Said Mtumodzi to the Nyika Media Club Members.
“Business reporting is not just about numbers and data; it’s about crafting compelling narratives that resonate with your audience for them to grasp well among others fiscal policies governments is implementing.”
“Let us strive to delve into the art of storytelling and how it can make complex financial information more open, accessible and engaging to the public,” he said.
