BLANTYRE (Maravipost)–The chase for the TNM Super League title is heads towards the climax this weekend.

Leaders Big Bullets take on third-placed Blue Eagles on Saturday in a potentially explosive contest slated for Nankhaka in Lilongwe.

Bullets lead the pack with 47 points from 22 games, three ahead of second-placed Moyale who date reigning champions Silver Strikers at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe on Sunday.

Eagles have 20 points from 21 games and Saturday’s game provides them a chance to
close in on the top two teams.

On Sunday, Bullets date Kamuzu Barracks at Dedza Stadium and the People’s Team general secretary and spokesperson Harold Fote said these are must-win games if they are to keep their title hopes nicely on the boil.

“Any slip at this stage could prove fatal and, therefore, the importance of these matches cannot be overemphasized. We need to collect full points at all cost, otherwise we’ll create a difficult situation for ourselves,” said Fote.

Eagles team manager Gabriel Chirwa said despite going down 0-2 to Azam Tigers last weekend, they still have good chances to contend for the title.

“If we can do well in our remaining games then we will remain firmly in contention,” said Chirwa.

In other matches, revitalised Civil Service (Civo) United host Epac FC at Civo on Friday.

On Saturday, Mafco take on Silver at Chitowe in Dwangwa, Mighty Wanderers face Blantyre United in Balaka and on Sunday, team of the moment Tigers engage Chikwawa United at Kamuzu Stadium whereas Mafco entertain Blue Eagles at Chitowe.
