Was ‘RHOBH’ Star Amanda Frances in a Cult? What She Has Said

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills newcomer Amanda Frances wasted no time in clashing with costar Dorit Kemsley over allegations that Amanda was once in a cult.

The female empowerment coach, who wrote bestselling book Rich as F*ck, made her debut on the Bravo reality show as part of a cast overhaul, which also saw newcomer Natalie Swanston Fuller join as a “friend” of the Housewives in the wake of Garcelle Beauvais’ dramatic exit following the season 14 reunion.

Bozoma Saint John almost immediately called Amanda’s professional credentials into question — and even suggested that her costar might be skilled at “scamming” during a January 2026 appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.

“What I’m doing [professionally] is not new at all,” Amanda exclusively told Us Weekly’s Getting Real With the Housewives in January 2026. “I don’t know why [the cast] are pretending they can’t wrap their head around it. Some people may be confused, some are absolutely not paying attention when I talk about it and some people are pretending.”

Viewers also got to see a vulnerable side to Amanda as she opened up about her and fiancé Eddie Tsivislavsky losing their baby son Zion five days after his birth in 2022.

Amanda Frances and Fiance Eddie Tsivislavsky’s Newborn Son Died in 2022

Many of the most poignant scenes on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 15 have revolved around Amanda Frances and her fiancé, Eddie Tsivislavsky, opening up about losing their newborn son Zion in 2022.

“Three years ago, I had twins, Canaan and Zion,” Amanda told viewers in the January 22, 2026, episode. “[It was] an emergency C-section, middle of the night, born 11 weeks early.”

Amanda explained that “Zion’s placenta was faulty,” which meant that her son was “having a hard time in the womb” throughout her pregnancy.

“Canaan was in the NICU for 68 days. Zion, unfortunately, died in my arms the first time I ever held him,” Amanda tearfully recalled.

As the third anniversary of Zion’s death approached, Eddie confided in Amanda that he still felt their son’s presence. In that same episode, Amanda asked a tarot card reader at Rachel Zoe’s dinner party whether any presence from the other side was trying to contact her.

“Do you feel anything from me right now?” Amanda asked, with the tarot card reader admitting: “I can’t get anything right now. I’m sorry.”

Amanda broke down in tears as she shared, “My 3-year-old’s twin died three years ago today, so I thought this might be a moment where he’d come through a little bit.”

“Eddie’s had these moments where he just feels Zion around him and he feels like Zion is stopping by to say hi,” she explained in a confessional interview. “I don’t have them the same way Eddie does. I’m really wanting to find my version of that.”

Amanda and Eddie also share a daughter, Delilah, as well as his two children, son Liam and daughter Shoshana, from a previous relationship.

Amanda Frances and Dorit Kemsley Had a Dramatic Dinner Party Clash

The climax of the January 22, 2026, RHOBH episode centered around Amanda Frances attending a dinner party at costar Rachel Zoe’s home. The event coincided with the third anniversary of Zion’s death, though the rest of the cast were unaware.

Amanda immediately made waves by questioning why Dorit Kemsley needed a ghostwriter for her upcoming book, Unburdened: A Memoir.

“I just sat down and wrote,” Amanda boasted with a laugh.

RHOBH cut to Erika Jayne’s shady retort in a confessional: “I’m really glad you wrote your book all by yourself. I did not. Dorit definitely will not because it will never come out!”

Before everyone sat down for dinner, Sutton Stracke revealed that Amanda had expressed concern that Dorit may be complicating her divorce from PK Kemsley by airing their grievances on the show. The revelation set up an extremely awkward confrontation at dinner when Dorit asked why Amanda was talking behind her back.

“Can I be really, really honest? Zion died three years ago today and I am holding on by a thread,” Amanda admitted, with a confused Kathy Hilton asking, “Is that your dog?”

“My son,” Amanda corrected Kathy.

RHOBH cut away to confessional interviews where each Housewife insisted they had no idea about the death anniversary. (Viewers saw Amanda telling her costars about Zion’s death in a previous episode, but she seemingly did not mention the anniversary date.)

‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Season 15 Taglines Revealed

Amanda excused herself from the dinner, but not before telling Kathy and Kyle Richards that she felt Dorit owed her an apology. Dorit tried to make amends, though Amanda physically rejected Dorit’s attempt to brush a tear from her eye.

Speaking exclusively to Us Weekly after the episode aired, Amanda confirmed that things were still rocky with Dorit months after they filmed the tense dinner party.

“We don’t recover,” she told Us. “And the thing is, we could have.”

Amanda insisted that the cringeworthy scene “could have been bonding” for herself and Dorit if they’d managed to quickly squash the beef.

“Viewers will see me in future episodes try very hard to just sit down with her and work it out,” Amanda hinted. “The woman was very committed and devoted to only talking to me if it could be a loud dinner table spectacle kind of thing.”

Amanda Frances Is a Female-Empowerment Advocate

The RHOBH newbie describes herself as a “world-renowned thought leader on financial empowerment for women” in her website bio. Aside from writing the bestselling book Rich as F*ck, Amanda Frances teaches online courses about financial planning and hosts the “And She Rises” podcast.

Amanda — who has clarified that she is not a licensed financial advisor — offered some guidance to Dorit Kemsley about her impending divorce from PK Kemsley on RHOBH season 15.

“I think you have to decide what you want, what you’re creating and who you are going to be,” Amanda encouraged Dorit. “I know that’s, like, a big overarching question, but who do you want to be as a provider? Who do you want to be as a woman who earns? … Who are you going to be no matter what he does?”

Fellow RHOBH cast member Bozoma Saint John was not impressed with Amanda’s advice to Dorit.

“What is this frou-frou mess we’re talking about?” Boz complained in a confessional interview. “I was looking for one plus one equals two. Intentions? What kind of provider does she want to be? What does that even mean? This is not financial advice. The math ain’t mathing.”

Speaking to Us Weekly in January 2026, Amanda attempted to set the record straight about her coaching business.

“There’s a lot of online businesses. I create digital courses and online education, and that’s been my world,” Amanda exclusively told UsGetting Real With the Housewives in January 2026. “Self-help has always been around and personal development has always been around, and there’s always been people applying mindset principles to many in business.”

Amanda Frances Says She Was in a Cult

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ January 29, 2026, episode included a bombshell revelation during Dorit Kemsley’s conversation with Kyle Richards and Bozoma Saint John. Dorit discovered a 2015 blog where Amanda Frances referenced escaping from a cult and was later shown reciting passages from the blog in her confessional interview.

Amanda opened up about her past experience in a cult during a January 2026 interview with Us Weekly.

“I have two bible school degrees. I have a ministry training degree, and then my bachelor’s degree is also from a religious university,” Amanda explained. “Between ministry training school and bachelor’s, I was, for two years, very highly involved in a church that I consider to be a cult.”

She continued, “It fits all the criteria for a cult. It fits all the criteria for religious abuse. That was what it was for me. That was the experience I had.”

Amanda took exception to the way her background was played for shock value by her RHOBH costars.

“It was never a secret. I’ve written, like, four blogs on the topic, in addition to other articles. The cult story isn’t a secret. Everyone in my audience, in my community, women in my courses, have known this story forever,” she insisted. “So, when she’s pulling it up like it’s dirt, it’s very weird to me. Because it’s not dirt.”

Who Is Amanda Frances on ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’? Meet the Controversial New Season 15 Cast Member

The conflict continued to escalate in subsequent weeks on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills as Dorit told the other ladies during her birthday dinner that Amanda once claimed to have “run away from a cult.”

“I did leave a cult,” Amanda told Dorit. “What does the cult have to do with anything?”

Amanda declined to get into specifics at the time but promised her new friends that she’d explain everything at a later date.

“This woman disrespected me and my son on the anniversary of his death, and now she wants to bring up that I’m in a cult?” Amanda complained in a confessional interview. “She’s just scraping the bottom of the barrel for anything she thinks will make me look bad.”

The touchy subject came up again when Amanda was on a hike with Kyle, where she described herself as “a wealth of information about cults.” Amanda accused Dorit of trying to smear her reputation with cult accusations.

Dorit offered a totally different explanation during a sitdown with Sutton Stracke and Rachel Zoe.

“[Amanda] claims to be very open and transparent,” Dorit said. “There’s something amiss, and I would like to know and understand Amanda. It’s not what you see is what you get.”

On The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show, Amanda assured Kyle that there were “never any secrets” about her experience in a cult — it all just took place “so long ago.”

“What makes a cult a cult is the isolation, the control, the manipulation, the subtle brainwashing,” she pointed out. “A cult is typically marked by control, manipulation, an authority figure leader that cannot be questioned, the fear of leaving. I can say a lot of things about what it was and what it wasn’t, and why it meets the criteria of a cult.”

Amanda confirmed that she was in the process of writing a new book specifically about the cult. She also tossed out some shade about how her cult experience compared to a Real Housewives dinner party.

“There weren’t many dinner parties in the cult, I have to tell you,” she quipped to Kyle. “I should have joined one like that. Maybe next time.”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 15 airs on Bravo Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET. Episodes are available to stream on Peacock the next day.

Why Jelly Roll Is Donating One of His Grammys to Local Nashville Jail

Jelly Roll might have won three Grammy awards this past weekend, but he’s not holding on to all of them for long.

After Jelly Roll’s wife, Bunnie Xo, told Entertainment Tonight at the Sunday, February 1, awards ceremony that she would be helping herself to one of his newly won prizes, the country singer shared what he plans to do with the other two.

“I’m going to obviously keep one at the studio because that was my dream,” Jelly Roll told Entertainment Tonight in a Wednesday, February 4, interview alongside his Star Search costars Sarah Michelle Gellar, Chrissy Teigen and Anthony Anderson.

The third Grammy, Jelly Roll (real name Jason Bradley DeFord) said, will serve as a beacon of hope in his native Nashville.

“I think I’m going to give the second one to the county sheriff, Daron Hall, to put at the jail,” the 41-year-old singer said, referring to the sheriff of Davidson County.

“So people know there’s life after,” Gellar, 48, chimed in.

Jelly Roll has been candid in the past about his criminal history, sharing in his 2023 documentary, Jelly Roll: Save Me, that he had been to jail around 40 times for various offenses, including possession with intent to distribute and aggravated robbery.

The “Son of a Sinner” singer turned his life around upon becoming a father in 2008. He has two children, daughter Bailee, 17, and son Noah, 9.

Jelly Roll Says He’s a ‘Dumb Redneck’ as Others Call Out ICE at Grammys

In December 2025, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee pardoned the singer for his past convictions. “His story is remarkable, and it’s a redemptive, powerful story, which is what you look for and what you hope for,” Lee told reporters, per AP.

Jelly Roll alluded to spending much of his youth in and out of trouble with the law during his acceptance speech for Best Contemporary Country Album at Sunday’s Grammys, held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

“First of all, Jesus, I hear you and I am listening, Lord. I am listening, Lord,” Jelly Roll said on stage. “Second of all, I wanna thank my beautiful wife. I would have never changed my life without you. I would have ended up dead or in jail, I would have killed myself if it wasn’t for you. I thank you for that.”

Jelly Roll won Best Contemporary Country Album for his 2024 LP, Beautifully Broken.

“There was a time in my life, y’all, that I was broken. That’s why I wrote this album,” he said of the album’s inspiration. “I didn’t think I had a chance, y’all. There was days that I thought the darkest things. I was a horrible human. There was a moment in my life when all I had was a bible this big and a radio the same size in a six-by-eight-foot cell, and I believed that those two things could change my life. I believed that music had the power to change my life and God had the power to change my life, and I wanna tell y’all right now, Jesus is for everybody. Jesus is not owned by one political party. Jesus is not owned by no music label. Jesus is Jesus, and everybody can have a relationship with him.”

Jelly Roll also took home the awards for Best Country Duo/Group Performance with his Shaboozey collaboration, “Amen,” and Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song, which he shared with “Hard Fought Hallelujah” collaborator Brandon Lake.

Savannah Guthrie Speaks Out Amid Mom Nancy’s Disappearance: ‘Bring Her Home’

Savannah Guthrie is speaking out about mom Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance.

“We believe in prayer. we believe in voices raised in unison, in love, in hope. we believe in goodness. we believe in humanity. above all, we believe in Him,” Savannah, 54, wrote via Instagram on Monday, February 2, alongside a graphic that read, Please Pray. “Thank you for lifting your prayers with ours for our beloved mom, our dearest Nancy, a woman of deep conviction, a good and faithful servant. raise your prayers with us and believe with us that she will be lifted by them in this very moment.”

She continued with a Bible verse, writing, “We need you. ‘He will keep in perfect peace those whose hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.’ a verse of Isaiah for all time for all of us.”

She concluded her message by pleading, “Bring her home.”

Craig Melvin Speaks Out After Savannah Guthrie’s Mom Is Reported Missing

News broke on Sunday, February 1, that Nancy, 84, was reported missing in Arizona when a family member called 911. She was last seen on Saturday, January 31.

“We can confirm this is a missing persons case, and the family is working closely with local law enforcement,” the Guthrie family — which includes Savannah, 54, brother Camron Guthrie and sister Annie Guthrie — said in a statement to NBC News on Monday, February 2.

The family added that they’re grateful for “the outreach, thoughts and prayers” they have received and urged anyone who might have relevant information regarding Nancy’s disappearance to contact authorities.

In a press conference on Monday, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nano claimed that a friend from Nancy’s church noticed she was absent at the service and called one of her kids, whom she shared with late husband Charles Guthrie.

The friend then went to Nancy’s home and searched before realizing, “We need some help.”

Authorities also shared that Nancy “didn’t leave on her own,” adding that her home was considered a crime scene.

“She couldn’t walk 50 yards by herself,” they added.

Nano added that foul play could not be “ruled out” and noted, “We’re going to canvas that neighborhood, maybe there’s a prowler [that’s] been seen around. There’s a lot of work still to do. We don’t have any indication that the public is still in danger.”

When asked whether Savannah had been threatened amid the disappearance, Nano said that the Today host had spoken to law enforcement and is currently in Arizona under the protection of security.

“She has a security team that’s been in touch with us throughout the night,” he noted. “We’re not gonna dismiss any angles for sure, but right now, immediately, we don’t know of anything like that.”

Savannah was absent from Today on Monday amid her mother’s disappearance.

“We want to get right to what is a deeply personal story for us,” her cohost Craig Melvin said. “Nancy Guthrie, Savannah’s beloved mother, has been reported missing in Arizona.”

Savannah Guthrie’s Candid Quotes About Her Late Dad Through the Years

Melvin, 46, and cohost Sheinelle Jones, who filled in for Savannah, then shared a statement from the TV personality.

“On behalf of our family, I want to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers and messages of support,” Savannah’s statement read. “Right now, our focus remains on the safe return of our dear mom. We thank law enforcement for their hard work on this case and encourage anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department at 520-351-4900.”

Later, Jenna Bush Hager got emotional as she spoke about Nancy’s disappearance on Today With Jenna & Sheinelle.

“We need to start the show with something that is deeply personal for us this morning,” Bush Hager, 44, said on Monday. “Nancy Guthrie, Savannah’s beloved mom and somebody we adore around here, has been reported missing in Arizona.”

After reading Savannah’s statement, Bush Hager added, “We love Nancy, I know her personally.”

Bush Hager said Nancy “takes daily medication” that she needs “for survival” and is likely “without her medication” right now.

“We are thinking of our dearest, dearest Savannah and her whole family right now,” Bush Hager continued. “Our prayers obviously go out to Savannah.”

Elphaba’s ‘Sex Cardigan’ Sparks Debate Among ‘Wicked: For Good’ Viewers

Has a fictional character’s piece of clothing ever had a greater social impact than Elphaba’s chunky knit sweater in Wicked: For Good?

The item of clothing has become known by fans as the “sex cardigan,” after Cynthia Erivo’s character sported the relaxed-fit shrug atop black lingerie before getting intimate with Jonathan Bailey’s Fiyero in the film. In the scene, Elphaba and Fiyero belt out an enchanting rendition of “As Long as You’re Mine” before doing the deed, but her outfit choice is pretty much all anyone can talk about since the film’s Friday, November 21, release.

The look certainly drummed up mixed reactions from fans on social media, with some explaining that they were fully on board with Elphaba’s cozy attire, referring to it as “the fashion moment of the year.”

“Those who are hating on elphaba’s cardigan just don’t know the powers a truly comfy cardigan can hold over a girl,” one X user wrote, while another said, “Y’all are laughing at Elphaba’s ‘sex cardigan’ as if Anthropologie isn’t currently planning to sell that thing for $140 and people will buy it. #WickedForGood.”

Another X user quipped, “Why is everyone saying elphabas cardigan is ugly do i just have bad taste😭😭,” as a fourth person wrote, “Unironically id love the elphaba cardigan like a full blanket just hugging you? Sign me tf up!!!”

“Y’all calling it Elphaba’s sex cardigan is taking me out lol…but it’s also good to know that I wasn’t the only one who wanted one as soon as she put it on,” another fan of the cozy jumper wrote.

Others weren’t so keen on the outfit choice, with one X user writing, “Can’t enjoy the damn song cause I keep getting flashbacks of that ugly ass cardigan elphaba wore.”

A second person who wasn’t a fan of the look said, “Elphaba’s sex cardigan is so insanely distracting in wicked 2.”

“That cardigan is ridiculous,” a third person echoed, as a fourth person mentioned, “Forget Elphaba having a sex cardigan, I’m still astounded they got away with Fiyero & Elphaba having offscreen sex in a ‘family movie’ to begin with. AND MAINTAINED THAT PG RATING. Welcome back BIG-era PG rating.”

The scene itself has caused quite the stir with some viewers of the PG film, including influencer Sara Burnett, who revealed via Instagram on Sunday, November 23, that she walked out of the theater with her children during the steamy moment.

“I am not sitting in a movie that is casting legit spells over me and my family and allowing my children to watch scenes where men are sexually taking off women’s clothing and music that is talking about them laying in bed together. & I have a feeling that the spells cast in this movie weren’t just some made up words.. they had purpose in them!” she captioned her post. “The Bible tells us to stay far away from that and my children even looked at me with big eyes and felt uncomfortable in certain parts of the movie. The mom gut knew it was time to walk out.”

She continued, “Now if you’ve watched the movie and loved it, that’s fine! This is our personal conviction and I we feel strongly about things our girls watch and the spirits we allow in us. — on another note, this was a great learning moment for our kids. Learning that when we are in situations that we don’t feel are right then we need the courage to walk away. I have a feeling this won’t be the last time that our girls have to walk away from a situation that isn’t from the Lord.”

Influencer Doubles Down on ‘Wicked 2’ Walkout Over Love Scene

A social-media influencer is doubling down on her decision to pull her kids out of a Wicked: For Good screening.

Sara Burnett took to her Instagram Stories on Monday, November 24, sharing Us Weekly’s previous story about why she walked out of the Wicked sequel. She said “we will never always make the right choices but when in a situation where you can make a choice to stand for your beliefs.. do it.”

The day prior, Burnett posted her negative review of the film via Instagram, writing, “Now hear me out — we LOVE theatre & musicals. We love appreciating the talents and God given gifts that people have. Seeing the acting, the arts and all the creativity. But gosh, I am not sitting in a movie that is casting legit spells over me and my family and allowing my children (5yr old included) to watch scenes where men are sexually taking off women’s clothing and music that is talking about them laying in bed together.”

In a video accompanying the rant, Burnett, a self-described “virtual hope spreader” and “anchor in Christ,” sits in a car sipping a Stanley cup.

A Review of All the Songs on the ‘Wicked: For Good’ Soundtrack

In her caption, she recalled “feeling that the spells cast in this movie weren’t just some made up words.. they had purpose in them! The Bible tells us to stay far away from that and my children even looked at me with big eyes and felt uncomfortable in certain parts of the movie. The mom gut knew it was time to walk out.”

Wicked: For Good, which stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, has a PG (parental guidance) rating from the Motion Picture Association for “action/violence, some suggestive material and thematic material.”

The movie opened on Friday, November 21, and dominated the weekend box office, collecting $150 million at the domestic box office and $226 million worldwide. According to The Ankler, a newsletter covering the entertainment industry, the sequel’s opening-night audiences gave it an “A” CinemaScore rating. A 61-percent majority of moviegoers were between the ages of 18 and 34, and 70 percent were female — further evidence that blockbusters targeting women perform exceptionally well in theaters.

Burnett objected to a sexy sequence featuring a shirtless Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey) and Elphaba (Erivo), mostly clad in a chunky gray cardigan sweater. The lovestruck duo croon “As Long As You’re Mine” inside Elphaba’s hideaway.

Does Fiyero End Up With Glinda or Elphaba in ‘Wicked: For Good’?

While Burnett’s post drew support from like-minded followers, others were grateful that they brought their children to watch director Jon M. Chu‘s much-anticipated follow-up to Wicked: Part 1.

“So happy I took my kids to see it! They’re too little to read into any of it and they see all that stuff as icky anyways,” one follower wrote. “My kids will grow up not hiding and having life normalized. So happy for them.”

Another reminded Burnett: “You had every opportunity to do your research on whether the content aligned with your values before allowing your kids to even see part 1. Ridiculous.”

Kim Kardashian Tries to Buy Dad’s Bible From O.J. Simpson’s Estate for $15K

The Kardashians documented Kim Kardashian‘s failed attempt at buying her late father’s bible from O.J. Simpson‘s estate — and revealed how much she was willing to pay.

During the Thursday, November 13, episode of The Kardashians, Kim, 45, got a call about her offer for the bible, which she wanted to acquire for Khloé Kardashian.

“There is the bible that my dad gave O.J. after the murders happened — but before he went into prison — and he brought it to prison with him,” Kim recalled about O.J.’s legal troubles. “It’s just really special. Khloé saw it on the Internet and then sent it to me and was, like, ‘Oh my God, this bible is going for auction. We have to get it.’”

Kim wanted to surprise Khloé with the sentimental gift. When Kim offered O.J. ‘s estate $15,000 as the initial offer, the news was leaked.

What the Kardashian Family Has Said About O.J. Simpson Over the Years

“It’s just so nuts. It really sucks and I would have negotiated. We were going to go [up to] $30,000. I guess I had a little too much faith in humanity for a minute there,” she noted. “We have to win this. This is really important to me. We have to bid.”

Despite Kim’s dedication, a message on the screen read, “The executor to O.J. Simpson’s estate told TMZ he could not sell the bible to Kim because he already contractually agreed to auction it, under court order.”

The late athlete was arrested and subsequently charged in 1994 with the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. In one of the most talked-about verdicts of all time, O.J. was famously acquitted of the murders in 1995, and was found liable for Ron and Nicole’s deaths in a civil trial three years later.

Robert Kardashian was O.J.’s friend and on his legal team. He also reportedly wrote a handwritten message in the bible, which was dated June 18, 1994.

Kardashian Family’s Most Heart-Wrenching Quotes About Robert Kardashian

“O.J., this book will help,” reports claimed earlier this year about the bible’s contents. “God loves and he will speak to you with his words. Read this book everyday. God has a definite plan for your life. You are his child and he will use you again. I love you and God loves you.”

Robert died in September 2003 following a battle with esophageal cancer. He was 59. Simpson, meanwhile, died at the age of 76 from prostate cancer in April 2024. A source later exclusively told Us Weekly that the Kardashians kept their distance from O.J. before his passing.

“[It seemed like] they were all terrified of Simpson and were united in keeping track of him for their own safety,” an insider said in April 2024, adding that it was clear that many “still considered O.J. a definite, unpredictable threat to the safety of them and their families.”

None of the Kardashians spoke out after O.J.’s death.

Hulu releases new episodes of The Kardashians every Thursday.

Brazilian Antônio Rocha de Sousa who burned Bible and posted clip on social media is found shot dead

FORTALEZA-(MaraviPost)-A man was found dead in Brazil having suffered several gunshot wounds to his body after he torched a bible and posted it online, with police now investigating his murder

A man who recorded himself torching a Bible and then posted it online has been found shot dead.

Antônio Rocha de Sousa’s body was discovered on Wednesday, May 14, riddled with bullet wounds.

Police are treating his demise as a homicide. Just 10 days before his death, Antônio uploaded a clip where he was seen setting the holy book alight.

In the footage, the 47-year-old flicked a lighter at the Bible, as Need to Know reported. Chatting to the lens, he scoffed: “This here is a Bible, which they say is sacred. Look what it does when faced with fire. It burns.”

In a defiant tone, he added: “To me, God doesn’t exist. This is just a way to enslave and manipulate people. If you haven’t woken up yet, it’s time to wake up. Look what this ‘sacred’ thing does in the face of fire. It’s time to wake up – God doesn’t exist.”

The Police said Antônio was gunned down in a street in Tianguá, out west from Fortaleza, Brazil.

Yet other reports suggests locals came across his corpse in his home, where he lived alone, and called the police, reports the Mirror.

Officials are investigating the incident, with no arrests having been made yet. A police spokesperson told the press: “We are looking into all possibilities.”

They’re investigating whether they link back to the video or the man’s past run-ins with the law. Reports say Antônio had history of causing intentional harm.

They suspect the Bible he torched was stolen. Police kicked off a theft, damage, and sacrilege probe on 10 May.

He also had previous for GBH, reports state. His social media contained several rants and opinions, available to the public, which he published frequently.

Antônio last shared on social media: “Follower of Christ, (peacekeeper of Peace). Born again in (Christ), among the living, who were once dead…after having been tested, tried, and approved by God.”

This case is similar to Salwan Momika’s – when he got shot in his home in Södertälje, just outside Stockholm, back in January of this year.

The 38-year-old Iraqi landed in Sweden as a refugee in 2018 and made headlines for torching Qurans in 2023.

Unrest broke out after Mr Momika set fire to a copy of Islam’s holy book outside Stockholm Central Mosque.

Local media reported that Mr Momika had been livestreaming on social media around the time he was shot.
