Forty-seven cases of Cholera  and two deaths in three months

LILONGWE (Maravipost) At least Forty-seven people were registered from November to January 47 this year on  cholera cases with two deaths.

Co-chair  of Presidential task force on Covid19 and Chorela,Khumbize Kandodo said this on 5th January 2024 in Lilongwe during a media conference.

Kandodo said at the same time last year the country registered over one thousand cases in all the twenty-nine districts.

She said everyone had a responsibility to prevent cholera spread by using clean water, getting cholera vaccine and good sanitation including washing hands.

She adds that the country has managed to vaccinate five million people through the help of the World Health Organization(WHO).

She calls upon the media to advocate more on cholera prevention to control the spread of the disease.

She applauds the faith leaders for helping the ministry in spreading the message of both cholera and Covid 19 through their congregations.
