Bruno Mars has finally confirmed that new music is coming — and his fans used the moment to joke about his alleged gambling debts.

“My album is done,” the Grammy winner, 40, tweeted on Monday, January 5, without offering further details about a title or potential release date.

The news was met with excitement by his fans, who have been waiting for a new solo album from Mars for nearly 10 years, as his last solo project, 24K Magic, dropped in November 2016.

“THIS IS THE BEST DAY EVER,” one happy listener wrote via X, while Rolling Stone’s official account tweeted simply, “Need it.”

Bruno Mars Jokingly Asks Fans to ‘Keep Streaming’ to Pay Off Gambling Debt

Other fans, however, took the opportunity to joke that Mars only went back to the studio to pay off the gambling debts that have allegedly followed him for the past few years.

“Bout to be debt free 🔥🔥🔥,” one X user quipped as another joked, “Vegas will be happy to hear 🤣.” A third person added, “Congratulations to the Bellagio for coming that much closer to being paid back their debt!”

Rumors about Mars’ gambling debts began circulating in 2024 when a report claimed that he owed $50 million to MGM, the company that owns the resort where he does his Las Vegas residencies. According to the report, Mars kept renewing his residencies with MGM in order to work off the debt.

MGM Grand, however, vehemently denied the report, with a spokesperson saying, “MGM and Bruno’s partnership is longstanding and rooted in mutual respect. Any speculation otherwise is completely false; he has no debt with MGM. Together, we are excited to continue creating unforgettable experiences for our guests.”

Bruno Mars Jokes He’s ‘Almost Out of Debt’ After Blackpink Show Surprise

Mars, for his part, kept leaning into the joke, referencing it in interviews and on stage.

“I love the lore that I am a Las Vegas lounge singer in debt to the mob,” he told the Las Vegas Review-Journal in June 2024. “I can work with that.”

Later that year, he joked about it during a concert in September 2024. “Ever since those articles came out about me owing the casino money you stopped picking up my calls,” he quipped while speaking into a prop phone. “It’s me, baby — I got money.”

In January 2025, when he became the first artist in Spotify history to reach 150 million monthly listeners, he used the milestone as yet another opportunity to to joke about his finances, writing via Instagram, “KEEP STREAMING! I’ll be out of debt in no time.”

MGM Reacts to Claim That Bruno Mars Owes $50 Million in Gambling Debts

While Mars hasn’t released a solo album in nearly a decade, he’s stayed busy collaborating with other artists. In 2021, he released a collaborative album with Anderson .Paak as Silk Sonic, which they supported with a residency at the Park MGM resort in Las Vegas.

He’s since had numerous hits with other artists, including “APT.” with Rosé and “Die With a Smile” with Lady Gaga in 2024 and “Fat Juicy & Wet” with Sexxy Red in 2025.

His latest Vegas solo residency, meanwhile, continued through New Year’s Eve and grossed more than $124 million over nine years.

Offset Seemingly Shades Ex Cardi B on Surprise New Album: ‘Get Some Help’

Offset dropped a surprise new album on Halloween — and it included an apparent shout-out to his estranged wife, Cardi B, and her boyfriend, Stefon Diggs.

The former Migos rapper, 33, seemingly took aim at Cardi, 33, and Diggs, 31, on “No Sweat” from Haunted by Fame, which he released on Friday, October 31. The possible shade comes in the verse when Offset raps, “How the f*** you leave Jordan for Rodman? / You a fool if you think that I’m hurt.”

After the reference to former Chicago Bulls players Michael Jordan and Dennis Rodman (with Offset as the Jordan in this scenario), the rapper seemingly directs words just to Cardi.

“You ain’t happy, I know how it work / How you married and still givin’ birth?” the lyrics read. “Get some help, bitch, you goin’ berserk.”

Offset Regrets ‘Stepping Out’ on Cardi B: ‘Should Have Respected Her’

While Cardi filed for divorce from Offset in July 2024, the estranged couple haven’t finalized their split. Last month, she claimed her ex is the reason the divorce is still in process, alleging that Offset wants her to pay his tax debts.

“The only reason why I’m still married is because somebody wants me to pay for their taxes,” she claimed in a September chat on X Spaces. “Y’all wanna know the tea The only way I can get out of my marriage is if I pay for somebody else’s taxes, even though I pay for my own, and give them one of my properties. I’m fighting for that, I’m gonna fight for that. This is not no love s***.”

She also addressed the fact that she’s currently expecting a baby with Diggs, to whom she was first linked in October 2024. Cardi confirmed last month she is pregnant with her fourth child, her first with Diggs. She and Offset share three kids: daughters Kulture, 7, and Blossom, 13 months, and son Wave, 4.

Cardi B Recalls the ‘Love Dying’ in Her Marriage to Offset While Pregnant

“Yes, I’m having a baby with somebody else. So what? That happens. It’s life,” Cardi continued in the X chat. “Let me tell you something, I did things the correct way the first time. I fell in love. I got two rings on my finger. I lasted seven years. … Stop saying, ‘Oh, but you’re still married.’ No, I’m legally separated.”

In a second song on Haunted by Fame, Offset appears to throw additional barbs at Cardi, rapping about a woman who he claims only gets attention because of her association with him.

“I know these n****s only wanna f*** you ’cause I f*** with you,” he raps on the chorus. “Please don’t think that this about you / Hate to be the one to bring you bad news.”

Cardi B’s Family Album: See the Cutest Photos of Her Kids

He continues in the verse, “No regrets, though / I taught you everything that you know / You not makin’ decisions, I’m still in control / Only reason these n****s f*** with you ’cause you were my ho / How does it feel?”

Cardi, for her part, addressed her split from Offset on the track “Man of Your Word” from her latest album, Am I the Drama, which dropped last month. When asked about the song during an interview with CBS Mornings, the Grammy winner replied, “I just wish he was a better person. But it is what it is. Be a better person for your kids.”

Amnesty International warns of deteriorating global human rights

Amnesty International has warned of the deteriorating global human rights crisis as the ‘Trump effect’ accelerates destructive trends.

The annual report entitled ‘The State of the World’s Human Rights’ assessed national, regional and global developments across a wide range of human rights themes.

Among the issues that hinder human rights are violations in armed conflicts, repression of dissent, discrimination, economic and climate injustice, and the misuse of technology to infringe on human rights.

The report also stated that while Africa’s armed conflicts caused relentless civilian suffering, including increasing levels of sexual and gender-based violence, and death on a massive scale, international and regional responses remained woefully inadequate, with civilians feeling forgotten.

It also highlighted the cost-of-living crisis that has deepened as prices of food, fuel and other necessities spiralled. High taxation levels, unsustainable public debts, widespread and unchecked corruption, escalating conflicts and extreme weather events exacerbated the crisis.

Protesting meant putting one’s life in danger, according to the report. Demonstrations were too often brutally and lethally dispersed and attacks on the rights to freedom of expression, peaceful assembly and association remained rampant.

Repressive tactics used by governments included enforced disappearances and arbitrary arrests and detentions of opponents, human rights defenders, activists, journalists and their critics.

Conflict and climate-induced shocks remained the main drivers of forced displacement, and Sudan continued to suffer the largest displacement crisis worldwide.

The number of refugees from conflict zones continued to soar; many refugees lived in squalid conditions or fear of forced return. Discrimination and gender-based violence, fuelled by societal norms, remained a daily reality for women and girls.

Unlawful attacks and killings by government forces and armed groups were reported across the region, including in Burkina Faso, Cameroon, the Central African Republic (CAR), the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Ethiopia, Mali, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Somalia, South Sudan and Sudan.

Operations by government forces often left a trail of civilian deaths. In Burkina Faso, the military reportedly killed at least 223 civilians, including at least 56 children, in the villages of Soro and Nodin in February.

Hundreds of civilians were reportedly killed in May by the military and its proxy forces during a supply operation against besieged towns in the east.

In Ethiopia, following armed clashes in January between government forces and militias in Merawi town, Amhara region, government forces rounded up scores of civilian men from their homes, shops and the streets and executed them.

Prophet Uebert Angel shocks congregants by settling their bills, debts

Prophet Uebert Angel

LONDON-(MaraviPost)-Philanthropist, businessman and man of the cloth, Prophet Uebert Angel and his wife BeBe Angel shocked several lucky congregants from GoodNews Church in London, by paying outstanding bills and debts during a special service last Sunday.

During the service this week, Prophet Angel started calling people from the crowd, telling them that their bills, which included rent arrears, electricity bills, phone bills, credit card debts, car debts and  even school fees for their relatives were settled in full.

The congregants, who are not actually poor, with some of them qualifying to be called rich could not hold back tears of joy, as Prophet Angel and Prophetess Bebe offered not to just to pray for their bills but physically pay them off from their own pockets as a sign of love and helping their church members.

The man of cloth, seems to be now elusive, selfless and has shifted from the flamboyant image, cementing a strong role in philanthropy since reconnecting with his mentor and life coach Pastor Chris.

It should also be noted that this is not the first time he has done this. According to sources it’s actually a common announced gesture that started way back.

The founder of spirit embassy surprised more than 34 congregants from 2011 to 2012, buying them and giving them cars, from servicemen, ushers, protocol team members to strangers who would visited the services for the first time.

The Uebert Angel Foundation has spent millions building houses for the poor, taking care of many widows and paying school fees for children in Africa, India and some parts of Europe.

“I think this should be lauded. I like this new face of Uebert Angel. If he has been doing this then good for him. All I know is I like what he is doing. It’s a new way of doing things and Angel always starts things,” said one comment on Facebook.

In one of his posts on Instagram, Prophet Angel said: “My dedication to humanity now is so profound that I want to leave a legacy that makes a mark on humanity that can’t be erased. To the extend that when I am no longer on this earth what sane entities would say is Uebert Angel loved those in lesser position than he was that he gave.”
