Women Allegedly Tortured and Killed Girl, 6, Kept Her in Dog Crate in NC

Three women are accused of torturing a 6-year-old girl inside their North Carolina home for more than a year until she died in December, when the girl weighed only 27 pounds, according to police.

On Wednesday, February 4, all of the women — Susan Robinson, Tonya McKnight, and Tery’n McKnight — were charged with first-degree murder in the death of Dominique Moody on December 16, 2025, court records viewed by Us Weekly show.

Tonya, Dominique’s legal guardian, and the two other women live together at the Charlotte home, where they were accused of extensive abuse against Dominique, including keeping her inside a dog crate, starving her, forcing her to stay in a soiled diaper, and beating her, according to an affidavit obtained by Us.

Ahead of Dominique’s death, Tonya would regularly have Susan and Tery’n watch the girl and Tonya’s other children who live at the home, the affidavit says. Tonya is Dominique’s aunt, according to the Charlotte Observer.

A detective wrote in the affidavit that “Dominique was tortured by being forced to watch the other children eat, being forced to sit in her own feces and urine, in a diaper, imprisoned in a dog crate or bathroom for days.”

“She was also consistently bound, beaten, and/or duct taped as punishment,” the filing continues.

Guardian Charged After Child, 6, Found Dead Inside Filthy NC Home

Tonya, Susan and Tery’n — who were initially charged with child abuse charges in connection with Dominique’s death — appeared in Mecklenburg County Superior Court on the murder charges on Thursday, February 5, the Charlotte Observer reported.

They were each appointed public defenders, according to court records, which did not immediately list the names of their legal representation.

The Mecklenburg County Public Defender’s Office did not immediately respond to an inquiry from Us on Friday, February 6.

According to the affidavit, on December 16, officers responded to a call about Dominique “not breathing” at Tonya’s Charlotte home. The girl was then taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.

Her body was covered in multiple scars and open wounds, including one wound on her left ankle that appeared to have been caused by a burn, the filing says.

“The most significant injuries were defects to her genitalia and buttocks,” the detective wrote in the affidavit.

When forensic investigators interviewed the other children inside the home, they told them that Tonya forced Dominique to live in “a small enclosure inside the residence” and that she was “often being bound with black tape, and being struck with [a] white belt,” the affidavit says.

“They further advised that when Dominique was found not breathing, she was placed in front of the kitchen stove to warm her up and bring her back to life,” the filing continues. In the affidavit, the detective described the three-bedroom residence as “extremely unkempt, with a strong odor of feces and urine” as well as multiple rats “scurrying through it.”

“The residence had a mixture of animal and human feces throughout,” the affidavit states.

Stepmother Charged With Murder for Starving Stepdaughter, 11, as Punishment

Evidence obtained from interviews with Tonya, Susan and Tery’n, as well as from their cell phones, revealed they were all involved in torturing Dominique, according to police.

The evidence confirmed “the duct taping, dog crating, beating, and rat activity over many years of Dominique Moody’s life,” the affidavit says.

Tonya was granted custody of Dominique in September 2021 after Tonya’s sister asked her to care for her daughter, according to court records reviewed by the Charlotte Observer.

In a court filing obtained by the newspaper, Tonya wrote that her sister made the request “because she is unstable and not equipped to care for the children.”

Tonya, Susan and Tery’n are being held in jail without bond, records show.

KOICA strengthens WFP’s efforts to prevent malnutrition in Ethiopia

ROME, Italy, 29 January 2026-/African Media Agency(AMA)/-The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has welcomed a contribution of USD5.5 million from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to help prevent malnutrition among pregnant and breastfeeding women and young children in Ethiopia by improving access to nutritious foods, strengthening local food systems, and building community resilience.

The contribution was announced during a ceremony in Addis Ababa on December 16, 2025, where Dr. Dereje Dugma, State Minister of Health, emphasized how the initiative aligns with government efforts to improve nutrition and resilience for food insecure families.

“WFP is grateful to KOICA for this strategic investment, delivered in partnership with the Ministry of Health. This is critical to advance Ethiopia’s food and nutrition security and human capital outcomes.” said Zlatan Milišić, WFP’s Country Director in Ethiopia. “This will deliver a triple impact: improved nutrition for vulnerable families, stronger local food systems, and greater household resilience through better access to diverse diets and best agricultural practices.”

The contribution enables WFP to diversify diets and improve nutrition for pregnant and breastfeeding women and young children by providing food vouchers to 5,000 families, allowing them to buy nutritious fresh foods like eggs, fruits and vegetables. WFP will also strengthen local food systems and build community resilience by providing thousands of food insecure families with agricultural inputs like machines and seeds, connecting them to key agricultural services such as animal health, and training health workers, agricultural agents and market retailers in best agricultural practices.

“This new contribution from KOICA reaffirms the Republic of Korea’s commitment to supporting Ethiopia’s efforts to improve nutrition and resilience, particularly for women, children, and vulnerable households,” said Mr. Taeyoung Kim, KOICA’s country director in Ethiopia. “Sustainable progress in nutrition, health and food systems will be achieved through strong ownership, long-term investment and coordinated multi-sector actions, along with the long-standing multilateral partnership.”

The contribution will be implemented in six woredas across Afar, Sidama and Central Ethiopia regions under the Seqota Declaration, one of Ethiopia’s flagship initiatives to end child undernutrition by 2030.

Malnutrition is a general term that covers both undernutrition and obesity. Undernutrition – which includes conditions like wasting (low weight-for-height), stunting (low height-for-age) and underweight (low weight-for-age) – is a public health and development challenge in Ethiopia. Poor dietary diversity and limited access to nutritious foods contribute significantly to undernutrition and micronutrient deficiencies, especially among women of reproductive age and children under five years of age.

“The Ministry of Health provides unwavering support to this important initiative to advance our national nutrition agenda and strengthen resilience in vulnerable communities under the Seqota Declaration,” said Dr. Dugma.

The Republic of Korea has been a major contributor to WFP, providing USD70 million through the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to support humanitarian and development responses in Ethiopia since 2021.

Rob and Michele Reiner’s Medical Records Sealed ‘Until Further Notice’

Rob Reiner and wife Michele Singer Reiner’s medical records are being sealed under court order “until further notice,” per the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office.

NBC 4 Los Angeles reported on Monday, December 29, that the Los Angeles Police Department obtained the court order amid its ongoing homicide investigation into the deaths of the When Harry Met Sally director and his wife.

“The LAPD sought to seal the records of the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s investigation into Robert and Michele Reiner’s death,” the LAPD said in a statement to NBC 4. “The causes of death of Mr. and Mrs. Reiner have already been made public. The order was sought only to ensure detectives from Robbery-Homicide Division learned of important information surrounding their deaths before the media and the public. The order was not sought to undermine transparency.”

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed in a statement on Monday that it had “received a court order” to “place a security hold” on medical reports pertaining to the Reiners on Wednesday, December 24.

“While the cause and manner of death were previously released on these cases, due to the court order, the information is no longer available. No other case information or records, including the Medical Examiner report, can be released or posted on the website until further notice,” the statement said.

“The Department understands the public’s interest in these cases and remains committed to transparency when possible. Information will be made available once the court order is lifted,” the statement added.

People obtained a copy of the court order and reported on Monday that it bans “the public release of any investigative information, notes, reports, or photos” to anyone but “assigned investigators.”

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office previously confirmed that Rob, 78, and Michele, 70, died from “multiple sharp force injuries.”

The couple were found dead inside their home in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles on December 14. Their son Nick Reiner, 32, was arrested the following day in connection with the murders.

On December 16, Nick was formally charged with two counts of first-degree murder. He faces in life in prison without the possibility of parole or the death penalty. He is expected to be arraigned on January 7, 2026.

Nick’s siblings, Jake, 34, and Romy, 28, broke their silence on their parents’ deaths in a statement on December 17.

“Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day. The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience,” the siblings said. “They weren’t just our parents; they were our best friends.”

“We are grateful for the outpouring of condolences, kindness, and support we have received not only from family and friends but people from all walks of life,” the statement continued. “We now ask for respect and privacy, for speculation to be tempered with compassion and humanity, and for our parents to be remembered for the incredible lives they lived and the love they gave.”

Along with Jake, Nick and Romy, Rob shared adopted daughter Tracy, 61, with his first wife, Penny Marshall.

Rob Reiner’s Daughter Romy Marks Her Birthday 2 Weeks After Parents’ Deaths

Romy Reiner turned 28 amid the aftermath of her parents Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner’s murders.

Romy’s birthday fell on Saturday, December 27, nearly two weeks to the day since her parents were found dead.

p class=”p1″>According to photos obtained by the Daily Mail, Romy marked her birthday surrounded by family and loved ones, including boyfriend Alex Silberberg, at a beach house in Malibu, California.

Earlier this month, The New York Times reported that Romy discovered her father’s body in her parents’ home in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles on December 14. Romy went to check on them after they failed to open the house’s gate for a massage therapist who arrived for a scheduled appointment.

According to the outlet, Romy’s roommate called 911 after Romy found her dad’s body. Romy reportedly did not see her mother’s body in the house and only learned of Michele’s death once paramedics arrived.

Romy’s brother Nick Reiner was arrested and ultimately charged with two counts of first-degree murder on December 16. He has yet to enter a plea and is set to be arraigned on January 7.

Despite previous claims, a source told The New York Times that Romy informed the police that Nick, 32, “lived on the property also” but “did not suggest to the authorities that her brother might be a suspect.”

Romy and her eldest brother, Jake Reiner, released a statement on December 17 after their sibling was accused of their parents’ murders.

“Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day. Jake, 34, and Romy added, “We are grateful for the outpouring of condolences, kindness and support we have received not only from family and friends but people from all walks of life.”

As their brother faced criminal charges, Jake and Romy requested sensitivity from the public.

They concluded: “We now ask for respect and privacy, for speculation to be tempered with compassion and humanity and for our parents to be remembered for the incredible lives they lived and the love they gave.”

Days later, a spokesperson for Jake and Romy said in a Monday, December 22, statement that the siblings “remain grateful for the outpouring of love and support they have received.” They also plan to “share information about a memorial service honoring their parents at a later date.”

After Nick’s alleged involvement in the case became public, a source spoke exclusively to Us Weekly about his and Romy’s dynamic leading up to their parents’ deaths.

“Romy has been so traumatized by Nick’s behavior,” the insider told Us. “She has always been so close with her parents, and watching their constant pain over Nick has impacted her and the whole family so much.”

Just two weeks before her parents’ deaths, Romy posted photos of herself and Rob swimming in the ocean on November 29, emphasizing their strong father-daughter bond.

Gymnast Dominique Dawes Mourns Father-in-Law After He Was Found Dead

Gymnast Dominique Dawes is mourning the death of her father-in-law, Leonard Thompson.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday, December 20, to alert fans of Thompson’s disappearance and put out a plea for help, the four-time Olympic medalist, 49, confirmed later that day that Thompson had died. He was 79 years old.

Dawes initially wrote alongside a video that addressed fans, “Please help my family. Find my father-in-law, Leonard Thompson. White male, 79 years old, white hair. He may have possibly suffered a help episode and is more than likely disoriented and confused. Last scene in Winchester, Virginia, left his car abandoned in Roanoke, Virginia. Law-enforcement believes he was picked up by a trucker and was traveling 81 south. Anything you can do to share this post and help us get national exposure so that my kids can see their grandfather again.”

Dawes and her husband, Jeff Thompson, share four children together: daughters Kateri and Quinn, and twin sons Dakota and Lincoln.

Dawes captioned the post with an emotional reflection on the day and her final time with Leonard. “We take comfort in knowing that he is now with our Lord and Savior. Kim Kardashian Demands Man Pay Her 6-Figure Legal Bill After He Loses Lawsuit

Kim Kardashian is demanding a man, who unsuccessfully sued the reality star over alleged emotional distress, pay her a six-figure sum to cover her legal bills, Us Weekly can exclusively report.

On Tuesday, December 16, Kardashian, estimated to have a net worth of over $1 billion, filed court documents demanding that Ivan Cantu, who lost his lawsuit against her weeks ago, cover the $145,000 in legal fees and other costs she spent on lawyers to defend herself.

Kardashian’s main lawyer, Emil Petrossian, charged $900 per hour of work on the case (reduced from her normal fee of $1,100 per hour) and another associate, Alina Gatto, earned $600 per hour.

The judge has yet to rule on Kardashian’s request.

Kardashian’s request comes after a judge sided with her on November 14 by dismissing all of Cantu’s claims.

Kim Kardashian’s Dating History Through the Years

As Us previously reported, Cantu, based in New York, sued Kardashian in February.

He claimed the reality star started posting photos of him on social media when she meant to post photos of a Texas man with the same name, Ivan Cantu, who was convicted of murder in 2001 and sentenced to death.

Kardashian, 45, became vocal about the prisoner in early 2024. She started to call for his execution to be stayed.

Kardashian’s attorney explained, “[Kardashian] played an important role in advocating for Mr. Cantu. Over the course of approximately ten days in February 2024, [Kardashian] and her team posted a series of ‘stories’ regarding Mr. Cantu — approximately 16 in all — on [Kardashian’s] Instagram account. Of these 16 stories, one story posted two days before Mr. Cantu’s execution mistakenly used an image of the plaintiff in this action, a New York-based project manager whose name is also Ivan Cantu.”

The prisoner whom Kardashian was posting about ended up being executed on February 28, 2024.

In his complaint, the New York-based Cantu claimed Kardashian’s posts with his photo caused him emotional distress and loss of sleep. He also claimed he experienced post-traumatic stress disorder.

In her response, the reality mogul claimed the lawsuit had no merit. Kardashian said her team discovered the mistake within hours of the post being made and immediately deleted it. Kardashian said she also apologized to the New York man for the issue.

Did Kim Kardashian Pass the Bar Exam? Inside Her Journey to Become a Lawyer

Kardashian adamantly denied wrongdoing. Her lawsuit argued, “This lawsuit is an attempt to cash in on a mistake that occurred in connection with, and as a direct result of, [Kardashian’s] exercise of her constitutional rights of free speech and petition.”

The reality mogul filed a declaration as part of her motion. She said, “Over the past eight years, I have used my resources and public platform to advocate for criminal justice reform and a fairer legal system, including a focus on clemency and exoneration of individuals who were wrongfully convicted or subjected to disproportionate sentences.”

She added, “My work advocating for criminal justice reform is solely based on my personal desire to use my voice to fight for people who may not have a voice and to drive systemic change. I engage in this work because I am passionate about it and without any commercial benefit or intent.”

In a court declaration, Kardashian explained how she got involved in trying to help the prisoner.

Kim Kardashian Reveals Outcome After Someone ‘Put a Hit Out’ on Her Life

“I was moved by Mr. Cantu’s story and his steadfast claim of innocence. I was also troubled by what I understood to be serious problems with Mr. Cantu’s conviction,” she said.

Kardashian also addressed the wrong photo being posted on her Instagram.

“The use of Plaintiff’s image in the February 26 Story was a mistake and was not done intentionally,” she said.I would not have used the image appearing in the February 26 Story had I known that it was a picture of Plaintiff and not Mr. Cantu.”

As Us previously reported, Kardashian is also in the middle of a legal battle with her ex, Ray J.

Corey Feldman Says He Was 1st Person to Think Rob Reiner Was Killed by Son Nick

While Hollywood continues to grieve the deaths of Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, the director’s friend Corey Feldman revealed his first reaction to hearing the tragic news and the subsequent arrest of their son Nick Reiner.

“As we watched the news unfold, I was actually the first one who said, ‘I think it was his son,’” Feldman, 54, told cameras in The Rob Reiner Story: A Hollywood Tragedy – ABC News Special, which aired on ABC Tuesday, December 16. “It’s awful. It’s the worst thing I could imagine. … Accepting that fact that this could have happened in his home from his own son, it sent shivers and chills down all of us.”

In the episode, reporters and loved ones revisited Rob’s iconic legacy as a famed actor and director while also reflecting on his and Michele’s tragic and shocking deaths. In addition to Feldman, who starred in Reiner’s 1986 film Stand By Me, the special included commentary from ABC News contributors Chris Connelly and Larry Hackett.

Feldman, who has also battled addiction in his life, offered his thoughts on Nick’s longtime battle with drugs and the fraught relationship that developed with his parents because of it, explaining, “When you grow up living around drug addiction and alcoholism, it’s a lot easier to accept it and process it when it comes to your own family. When we don’t understand the plight of our friends and family, and we don’t understand what a slippery slope addiction is, it’s hard to have empathy for it.”

Maria Shriver Says Rob Reiner and Michele Were ‘Good Parents’ Before Deaths

“All I could think is, ‘Oh my God, there’s no way this could have happened to my friend,’” Feldman remembered thinking after learning of Rob’s death.

Rob and Michele were found dead in their Brentwood, California, home on Sunday, December 14, with apparent stab wounds. Nick, 32, was arrested on Monday, December 15, on suspicion of murder hours after his parents’ bodies were found. He is being held without bail.

Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman announced in a Tuesday press conference that Nick has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and is facing life in prison without parole or the death penalty if he is convicted.

“Rob Reiner was a brilliant actor and director, an iconic force in our entertainment industry for decades,” Hochman said. “His wife, Michelle Singer Riner, was an equally iconic photographer and producer. Their loss is beyond tragic and we will commit ourselves to bringing their murderer to justice.”

Rob and Michele were seen with Nick at Conan O’Brien’s Christmas party one day before their deaths on Saturday, December 13. A source told Us that Nick acted “creepily” at the event and asked people “if they were famous” before leaving. Additionally, TMZ reported Nick and Rob got into a “very loud argument” at the celebration.

The son of actors Carl and Estelle Reiner, Rob’s career spanned six decades, with him gaining notoriety for his acting work in the sitcom All in the Family for eight seasons throughout the ‘70s. Additionally, he appeared in Sleepless in Seattle (1993), The First Wives Club (1996) and The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), in addition to his unforgettable work behind the camera.

Some of Rob’s greatest directorial features included This Is Spinal Tap (1984), When Harry Met Sally (1989), A Few Good Men (1992) and The Bucket List (2007). His life and career is being remembered in tributes shared by his fans, friends and former collaborators after his death, including Jerry O’Connell, Zooey Deschanel and Jamie Lee Curtis.

“Christopher and I are numb and sad and shocked about the violent, tragic deaths of our dear friends Rob and Michele Singer Reiner and our ONLY focus and care right now is for their children and immediate families and we will offer all support possible to help them,” Curtis, 67, said in a statement to Us Weekly on Monday on behalf of her and her husband, Christopher Guest. (Curtis, 67, costarred with Rob in New Girl, while her husband, Guest, 77, worked with Rob on a number of films, including This Is Spinal Tap and its 2025 sequel.)

“There will be plenty of time later to discuss the creative lives we shared a the great political and social impact they both had on the entertainment industry, early childhood development, the fight for gay marriage and their global care for a world in crisis. We have lost great friends. Please give us time to grieve,” she concluded.

Dick Van Dyke’s Wife Says He ‘Didn’t Sleep’ the Night of Rob Reiner’s Death

Dick Van Dyke‘s wife, Arlene Silver, detailed how Rob Reiner’s death profoundly impacted her husband.

Silver, 54, shared a video via Instagram on Monday, December 15, that discussed how early reports of Rob and wife Michele Reiner’s deaths at ages 78 and 68, respectively, on Sunday, December 14, kept Van Dyke, who turned 100 one day prior, awake.

“I want to celebrate Dick … but I also want to acknowledge this horrible thing,” Silver told fans. “Dick didn’t sleep last night because he wanted to stay up to just know … we didn’t know what happened. The first reports were, ‘Two people found in the house.’” (TMZ was first to report on an incident inside Rob and Michele’s Brentwood home, with the family confirming the couple’s deaths later that night.)

Silver, who has been married to Van Dyke since February 2012, also spoke about how she and Van Dyke recently spoke to the Reiners over the phone. “We talked to Rob two weeks ago on the phone. And Michele … I have so many messages for Dick’s birthday [and] Michele and Rob’s are in those messages,” Silver said. “Dick has known Rob since he was a teenager on The Dick Van Dyke Show and I’ve been a fan of his work before I knew him. Rob and Michele were always together like Dick and I. I always felt part of the Reiner family.”

Rob Reiner and Wife Michele’s Deaths: Everything We Know So Far

Rob’s father, the late Carl Reiner, created The Dick Van Dyke Show, which premiered in 1961 and ran for five years.

Silver, a makeup artist who also works as an actress and producer, added that she felt mixed feelings about celebrating Van Dyke’s milestone birthday in the wake of the Reiners’ deaths. “Such a weird, wonderful, awful weekend,” Silver said in the clip. “I can’t not talk about this horrible thing. Dick’s birthday was so amazing, over-the-top beautiful. I was relieved and happy and all that and then this happened yesterday.”

Silver also commented on Rob and Michele’s son, Nick Reiner, who was charged with two counts of first-degree murder as a result of his parents’ death. “You know that they did everything for that kid,” Silver said. “I’d never met him but I met his [Rob’s] other kids and they loved their kids.”

She added later in the video, “I feel terrible for his family. He had a wonderful family.”

A report by the Los Angeles Times, published on Tuesday, December 16, stated that a representative from the Los Angeles Police Department claimed Rob and Michele died in their bedroom on Sunday night. The article said that the information was shared by Assistant Chief Dominic Choi at a weekly LAPD meeting, and that “the couple’s bodies were found in the bedroom of their Brentwood home.”

Inside Rob, Michele Reiner’s Final Days Before Son’s Arrest for Their Deaths

Us Weekly confirmed that Nick, 32, was arrested on suspicion of murder without bail on Monday, December 15. The LAPD said in a press conference at the time that Rob and Michele suffered apparent stab wounds and the matter was being investigated as a homicide.

Los Angeles district attorney Nathan Hochman said in a press conference on Tuesday that Nick will be arraigned after undergoing medical clearance. He is facing life in prison without parole, or the death penalty.

Who Won ‘The Voice’ Season 28? See Which Coach Came Out on Top

Season 28 of The Voice has come to an end with a brand-new winner.

During the Tuesday, December 16, episode of NBC’s competition series, host Carson Daly announced Texas A&M University student Aiden Ross from Team Niall Horan received the most votes from America.

Fellow coaches Reba McEntire, Michael Bublé and Snoop Dogg delivered a standing ovation for the winner, who is walking away with a record deal and a substantial cash prize. As for Niall, he is walking away with bragging rights for having a perfect record of having the winning contestant in every season he has coached.

One day earlier, the remaining finalists, including Aubrey Nicole (Team Reba), Jazz McKenzie (Team Michael), Ralph Edwards (Team Snoop), Max Chambers (Team Michael) and country group Dek of Hearts (Team Niall) performed for America’s vote.

‘The Voice’ Winners Through the Years: Where Are They Now?

Before each artist performed two songs, many of the coaches expressed how impressed they were with the talent from season 28.

“I think this one is the highest level across the board of talent,” Niall exclusively shared with Us Weekly while attending The Voice season 28 live show red carpet on Monday, December 15. “I think going into finals in previous seasons that I’ve been here, I have a good idea of who’s gonna either win or get very close, but backstage, even between us, we can’t call it.”

While Niall acknowledged that he had two incredible artists in the finale, he also realized it’s up to America to decide who wins.

“I’m sure everyone else thinks that they’ve got an unbelievable artist, but the talent level is through the roof,” he shared. “People like Ralph and then you’ve got my two and it’s a whole thing this season, more than I can remember.”

Speaking of Ralph, Snoop couldn’t hide his excitement at seeing his finalist soar throughout the season.

“He had 11 opportunities to be on The Voice and he didn’t make it, and on the 12th opportunity, it’s like the 12th day of Christmas,” Snoop shared. “Ralph was able to persevere and push through. I feel like this is a moment for him more than anything.”

As for Reba, she was grateful to have the opportunity to coach Aubrey throughout the season. The country music legend’s biggest reminder for her contestant was to have fun.

“That is the best advice I’ve ever gotten,” she told Us. “But before you get to have fun, you’ve got to be prepared. Know your lines or your song — whatever it is — so you can go up there on that stage, when the lights come on and the microphone is in your hand, you can have fun, because you know what you’re supposed to do.”

Midseason 2026 TV Schedule: See When Your Favorite Shows Will Air

Mick Foley Severs Ties With WWE After Trump’s Rob Reiner Remarks: ‘Last Straw’

Mick Foley is severing ties with WWE amid the company’s alleged support of President Donald Trump, calling the president’s recent comments about the late Rob Reiner the “last straw.”

Foley, 60, announced his decision to part ways with WWE on Tuesday, December 16, explaining via Instagram that he’s been “concerned” about the WWE’s “close relationship with Donald Trump for several months.”

The retired wrestler said his concerns grew “in light of [the Trump] administration’s ongoing cruel and inhumane treatment of immigrants (and pretty much anyone who ‘looks like an immigrant’).”

The turning point, however, came after Foley said he read the president’s “incredibly cruel comments in the wake of Rob Reiner’s death,” stating it “is the final straw for me.”

Donald Trump Doubles Down on Criticizing Late Rob Reiner After His Murder

Rob and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were found dead in their home on Sunday, December 14, after being murdered.

Us Weekly later confirmed that the couple’s 32-year-old son Nick Reiner was arrested on a murder charge and held without bail. On Tuesday, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office announced that Nick was officially charged with two counts of first-degree murder and could be facing life in prison without parole or the death penalty, should he be found guilty.

As Hollywood mourned the deaths of the director and his longtime spouse, who were 78 and 68, respectively, Trump, 79, issued a statement that seemingly pointed Rob’s alleged problems with him as the reason he was killed.

“A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood. Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS,” Trump wrote via his Truth Social platform on Monday.

He continued: “He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before. May Rob and Michele rest in peace!”

In the wake of the controversial comments, Foley revealed on Tuesday that “no longer” wishes to “represent a company that coddles a man so seemingly void of compassion as he marches our country towards autocracy.”

Foley shared, “Last night, I informed @WWE talent relations that I would not be making any appearances for the company as long as this man remains in office. Additionally, I will not be signing a new Legends deal when my current one expires in June.”

He noted, “I love WWE, will always treasure my time with them, and I am deeply appreciative for all the opportunities they afforded me. But, in the words of Popeye the sailor, ‘I stands all I can stands, and I can’t stands no more.’”

Us Weekly has reached out to WWE for comment.

Foley is a retired professional wrestler, comedian and author. During his time in the arena, Foley went by Cactus Jack from 1991 to 1996. He famously wore cowboy books and used items such as barbed wire during his matches.

He made his WWE debut in 1996 as Mankind, taking on the ring persona of Dude Love the following year. Cactus Jack made his return in 1997 as well and Foley fought as all three during 1998’s Royal Rumble.

The four-time world champion was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013, one year after retiring from wrestling. Foley, however, has maintained his affiliation with WWE, working as the Raw General Manager from 2016 to 2017 and making appearances on WWE Raw for years.

Trump, meanwhile, has had a longstanding relationship with the WWE, namely former CEO and Chairman of the Board Vince McMahon, who resigned in 2024 after allegations of sexual assault. (McMahon has denied the allegations and the federal prosecutors dropped the criminal investigation in February.)

Prior to becoming president, Trump made several appearances on WWE programs and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013 as a celebrity honoree.

Currently, WWE Chief Content Officer Paul Michael Levesque — known as Triple H — serves as part of the president’s fitness council.
