Colin Jost Jokes Scarlett Johansson Is His ‘Gravy Train’ on ‘SNL’ Joke Swap

’Tis the season for Colin Jost and Michael Che’s annual Saturday Night Live joke swap and, predictably, there was a not-so-subtle mention of Scarlett Johansson.

“Tonight is our Christmas show, and we have a tradition,” Che, 42, began during their “Weekend Update” segment on Saturday, December 20. “Colin [and I] give each other jokes to read that neither of us have ever seen before.”

Jost, 43, however, revealed that he didn’t prepare any jokes this time around.

“That’s interesting because you specifically said that we were not doing it this year,” Jost said. “You know that I didn’t write any jokes for you.”

Che, with a laugh, told his coanchor to read aloud his newly crafted jokes instead — including one about Jost’s wife, 41-year-old Johansson.

“New research shows that millions of women leave the workplace due to menopause, which means there’s only a couple years left on my gravy train,” Jost said, stifling a laugh, as a pic of Johansson was shown on the screen. “My girl already be like, ‘Colin, I’m warm. Colin, I’m sweating.’ Bitch, you having a hot flash, but don’t worry about me. I’ve got a backup [because] they don’t call Wednesday ‘hump day’ for nothing.”

As another photo of Wednesday actress Jenna Ortega flashed on the screen, Jost subsequently buried his head in his hands.

“Wow, Colin, I wouldn’t have done that one,” Che quipped, referring to the insinuation that Jost could leave Johansson for Ortega, 23.

Jost succinctly replied, “Wednesday?!” and started coughing. Che quickly asked his pal whether he “was OK” before continuing on with the live broadcast.

Jost and Johansson have been together since 2017, getting married three years later in 2020. Since then, the Marvel actress has become consistent fodder for SNL jokes.

Scarlett Johansson Reacts to ‘Vulgar’ Vagina Joke on ‘SNL’

“I now rarely watch [SNL] without having a sense of … not overwhelming panic, just like a slight underwhelming panic because I just feel like at any moment something’s going to fall apart,” Johansson previously said on The Kelly Clarkson Show in July 2021. “And that’s the excitement of SNL and for all audiences, right? Because it’s absolutely live.”

She continued, “When you’re emotionally invested in it and not just entertained by it, it takes on a little bit of a different life.”

Johansson did watch Jost and Che’s 2024 joke swap live after appearing on the variety show in other sketches but wasn’t pleased her husband was forced to make a crude joke about her vagina.

“Costco has removed the roast beef sandwich from its menu,” Jost read aloud during the December 2024 holiday episode. “I’ve been eating roast beef every night since my wife had the kid.”

Johansson, who gave birth to the pair’s son in 2021, was taken aback by the joke. (Johansson also is the mother of daughter Rose from a previous relationship.)

“I was, obviously, surprised by everything, but they gave her a heads-up,” Jost said on a January episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “They were like, ‘Hey, would you be OK if Michael made a little, like, kind of vagina joke at some point?’”

According to Jost, Johansson was “open to” the mention.

“I didn’t know where it was going and then the graphic came up for Arby’s,” Jost recalled. “Scarlett is backstage, like, ‘Oh, my God, that’s what it is?’”

Che later issued a public apology to Johansson during a May episode of SNL.

Saturday Night Live airs on NBC Saturdays at 11:30 p.m. ET.

Exes Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist Both Attend ‘Golden Bachelor’ Finale

Gerry Turner and ex-wife Theresa Nist have reunited for the first time since their now-contentious divorce during the Golden Bachelor season 2 finale.

Doing the Wednesday, November 12, live broadcast, host Jesse Palmer revealed that Gerry, 74, was in the crowd.

“Look who else is here: Gerry, our first Golden Bachelor,” Jesse, 47, addressed the audience. “[He’s here] with his new fiancée, Lana [Sutton].”

The camera then panned to Gerry and Lana sitting in the crowd, waving back at Jesse and the cameras.

“We wanna say congratulations on you both finding love,” Jesse added. “Excited for you too.”

Jesse subsequently revealed that “so many Golden ladies and Golden men” were also in attendance — sitting across the room. Theresa, 72, was spotted sitting next to Gerry’s runner-up, Leslie Fhima, and Mel Owens’ castoffs from season 2. Jesse did not further address Theresa or Leslie’s appearance.

Gerry famously got engaged to Theresa during season 1 of The Golden Bachelor, which aired in 2023. They tied the knot less than a year later but announced in April 2024 that they went their separate ways after three months of marriage.

“Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations. We’ve looked closely at our living situations and we’ve kind of come to the conclusion mutually that it’s time for us to dissolve our marriage,” Gerry said on Good Morning America at the time. “The things that strike me the most in our conversations it’s been how dedicated both of us are to our families. So, we look at these situations and I think we just feel like it’s best for the happiness of each of us to live apart.”

While Gerry and Theresa initially blamed their whirlwind divorce on long distance, he later told Us Weekly that more factored into the decision.

“I believe [I was] made out to be a villain,” Gerry claimed to Us exclusively in an October cover story. “Right before Theresa and I went on Good Morning America to announce that divorce, we agreed that we would protect each other, and I don’t feel like that happened. I felt like I was taking the brunt of the situation. And I go, ‘No, wait a minute, that’s not right. It’s 50/50.’”

Gerry laid out more claims about what went wrong in his My Golden Years memoir, even alleging that he felt “trapped” going into his and Theresa’s wedding day.

Theresa, meanwhile, denied Gerry’s version of events.

“It makes me very sad to think that he felt empty and trapped,” Theresa told Us in a statement last month. “I wish he had said something and just ended it. But at least now I understand why he was so hurtful to me so many times. And I will say this. Those in glass houses should not throw stones. I do wish him all the best.”

Theresa later revealed that she is still hurt by Gerry’s claims.

“All I want is peace and joy and good things in my life,” she said on the“Dear Shandy” podcast earlier this month. “I have been extremely upset. Anytime I talk about anything that I read that he said about any interaction we had, I just go, ‘That’s not how it was.”

As we gather to receive from the Lord, we are reminded of the words of Jesus in John 15:16, “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit — fruit that will last — and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.” The crusade in Kenya is a manifestation of this divine appointment, a moment when God’s people are chosen to bear lasting fruits of blessings, miracles, and transformation.

Kenya, a beautiful nation with a rich tapestry of culture and history, is poised for a spiritual revival. The prayers, worship, and teachings during the crusade will undoubtedly leave a profound impact, ushering in a season of unprecedented blessings and favor.
