1 Min Read

The Malawi flames have risen 15 points up from 106 to 94. Neighbours Zambia are another best mover this part of Africa moving 16 places up-from 78 to 62.

Algeria who beat Malawi 2-0 at home and 3-0 away in Group B African Cup of Nations qualifiers are ranked in 15th position. Highest ranking in Africa.

The Malawi Flames had mixed results in the last two games of the 2015 Afcon qualifiers which saw them not getting a place at the finals slated for Equatorial Guinea this January. They beat Mali 2-0 at home and drew 0-0 in Ethiopia.

Mali have risen to position 49 from 59 probably because of their 2-0 win over Africa’s highest ranked Algeria.

In the other rankings, former top ranked Egypt have leaped to position six, while Nigeria have dropped five places to position nine in Africa and 40 in the world.

Mozambique where a majority of Malawian players are playing, have gained 12 places up on 97.
Elsewhere, Germany have tighten their grip on position one in the world, Argentina second followed by Colombia on third.
