TNM Super League: Full standings after weekend matches

BLANTYRE(MaraviPost)—The TNM Super League table did not change in the week 19, but the weekend fixtures provided the stage for some of the big clubs in the country to make a statement.

Blue Eagles maintained its grip on top the table with 40 points by beating Epac FC 3-1 in Lilongwe on Saturday while Big Bullets thumped their old-age rivals Mighty Wanderers 1-0 at the Kamuzu Stadium to claim position two with 40 points.

However, on Sunday, Moyale Barracks toppled the Peoples team from second position after beating rookies Karonga United 2-0 in Mzuzu.

Therefore, the race is still tight at the top with all the three teams having 40 points but separated by goals.

The fourth placed Red Lions failed to utilize home ground advantage on Sunday as they were playing against Chikhwawa United at the Zomba Community ground. They conceded a goalless draw and they have maintained their position with 31 points.

Mafco and Civo United are on position five and six with 30 and 28 points respectively. Mafco beat Airborne Rangers 3-1 on Saturday while Civo salvaged a draw on Sunday through a late equalizer in a Capital City derby against Silver Strikers.

Tigers beat Blantyre United on Sunday to maintain their 7th position with 26 points.

On eighth position there is Silver Strikers with 22 points followed by Epac FC with 21 points.

Mighty Wanderers, who conceded a sixth defeat in a row to rivals Big Bullets on Saturday, are on position 10 with 20 points. Airborne Rangers are on position 11 with 19 points while Kamuzu Barracks who were once nicknamed Manchester City, are on position 12 with 17 points.

Trailing in the relegation zone are Blantyre United, 14 points, Chikhwawa United, 13 points and Karonga United, 10 points.
