A nine-month-old baby Alexandra has been found dead in the backyard of her mothers home after a cat fell asleep on her face and suffocated her to death.
According to the mother of the child, Snezhana, she left the baby sleeping in her baby carriage at the back yard of her home to handle other household chores before she discovered her daughter’s lifeless body.
The 22-year-old mother called her paramedic and an ambulance to help saving her child but it was too late.
According to Halyna Zakharchuk, one of the paramedics, the child was already dead the time they arrived at the scene.
“We found the baby in the state of clinical death. The ambulance arrived quickly and we were trying to resuscitate her for 30 to 40 minutes,” he said
Autopsy results revealed that the baby died of suffocation and police have described the death as a tragic accident.
As reported by Daily Mail, local policeman, Pavlo Darmorgrai said: “The death was accidental and we are not taking any measures against the mother”.
