LONDON-(MaraviPost)-Queen Elizabeth II has tested positive for COVID-19 just few days after her eldest son, Prince Charles, tested positive for COVID-19.
Buckingham Palace disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, February 20, 2022, adding that she is experiencing mild, cold-like symptoms.
The 95-year-old British monarch positive Covid-19 test comes after she received three jabs of coronavirus vaccine.
“She will continue to receive medical attention and will follow all the appropriate guidelines,” the palace said in a statement.
The palace also said she will continue with light duties while in treatment.
Queen Elizabeth, Britain’s longest-reigning monarch, was last seen publicly on Saturday at an event in Sandringham to mark her 70 years on the throne, ABC reported.
Reports revealed that Prince Charles met the Queen in Windsor two days before he tested positive for COVID-19. He and the Duchess of Cornwall met Chancellor Rishi Sunak and others at a reception in the British Museum.
The 73-year-old heir to the throne last caught the virus in March 2020. His wife, Camilla, 74, caught the virus for the first time just days after her husband caught it a second time.
