PAC Approves Mussa as Envoy to Egypt in spite questions about his credentials

LILONGWE (MaraviPost)—The Public Appointments Committee (PAC) of parliament has approved DPP vice President responsible for the Eastern region Yunus Mussa as Malawi’s ambassador to Egypt after finding out that he has all along been embellishing his credentials, only MaraviPost can reveal.

Mussa was among nine new envoys appointed recently by President Peter Mutharika in a diplomatic shake up. Everyone has been confirmed with the exception of Thoko Banda who was disqualified when it was learnt that he had called Leader of Zimbabwe President Mugabe an ‘idiot’ in an interview he had conducted while in Germany.

The evidence uncovered by PAC’s investigations reportedly established that Yunus Mussa has all along been embellishing his credentials with a relative’s.

However efforts to talk to Fredrick Ndala, President Peter Mutharika Press Officer, to confirm or deny this development yielded nothing as the email we sent, was by the time we published this report, not responded to and of course MaraviPost was not surprised with the silence as it is the habit of most public officials in Malawi not to respond to inquiries they are supposed to do so under normal circumstance.
