LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Super League of Malawi (SULOM) has finally released fixtures for the first round of the 2022 Season.
However the fierce battle between City rivals Mighty Wanderers and Nyasa Big Bullets FC is anticipated on the opening day of the league (March 19, 2022) where Bullets will ignite their title defence.
This is the first time in many years for the two teams to meet on the opening day.
The release of the fixtures has put to rest critics on SULOM for not clearing the mist about the start of the league.
The Peoples Team will host rivals Nomads at Kamuzu Stadium to perhaps cling to their dominance over their neighbors who finished on third place last season.
What will make this match more exciting this season is the switching of players who have left Bullets for Wanderers such as Veteran Striker Chiukepo Msowoya and defender Miracle Gabeya on failure to agree on personal terms and for being released.
Bullets are depending on the services of the newly promoted starlets Patrick Mwaungulu, Lanjesi Nkhoma and the new catch Hadji Wali who helped them win first silverware of the season after scoring against its former team Silver Strikers FC in Charity Shield.
However, Mighty Wanderers who have gone three seasons trophyless vowed to break the jinks this year.
Other fixtures on the opening day,Silver Strikers travel to Balaka Stadium to battle it out with Red Lions,as newcomers Sable Farming will play Civil Service United, Malawi Armed Forces College will host the area 30 outfit on a venue to be announced.
